You see, there's a difference between thinking this is a walkover and a fight ending early.

Hagler-Hearns lasted 3 rounds, and it certainly wasn't a walkover for Hagler was it? So keep the cocky comments to yourself man - I didn't say this would be a walkover, just an earlier than expected win.

I can definitley see where you're coming from man, for sure. For me though, I dont see Manny as that much of an excellent technican, in the JMM mould, but more of a gunslinger who's improving his technical ability all the time.

I try and make comparisons with the Collazo fight, and it was a fight I honestly thought should have went to Collazo. IMO Collazo is a smarter operator than Manny, from a technical boxing perspective. The reason he had a lot of success though was because he could sit in the pocket and could easily match Hattons strength, however I don't think Manny can handle the strength and therefore will have to fight going backwards, where he isn't as good.

I can see another alternative of course, and thats where Hatton gets hit every time he comes forward and Manny pivots, enabling him to keep the centre of the ring breaking Hatton down bit by bit, eventually stopping him. But early on, you can only land 1 or 2 shots on Hatton cos he's very instense and closes very quickly, and I feel the natural strength will be too much too early for Manny.

When I place all of Mannys attributes on an orthodox fighter, I see Hatton winning quite comfortably, simply because a very aggressive, smaller, naturally lighter fighter will be overwhelmed by the physical attributes and mugging style Hatton uses. Throw in the southpaw stance though, and it poses a multitude of problems.

Maybe man, maybe. Just offering my opinion, and I like Manny a lot, just wanna clear that up. Top guy and superb fighter.
