big fan of JC, i think he can spit more boxing then a lot of fighters who got more attention

as he still has what it takes
what has to happen for him to come out of retirement?

Froch bashing up Taylor and then unifing against bute or kessler?
    chad becoming a bigger attraction?
Hopkins schooling another young champion (chad or paul williams) then HBO putting up big figures?

An invention of somekind of time machine has to happen.

In which Calzaghe can time travel into the future when all top fighters are over 40 years old.

Froch needs a big win this weekend, then he needs to go **** on Calzaghe's front lawn.

He won't come back. He had little to no interest in the BHop and RJJ fights. He wasn't top, top condition vs Kessler (age, rather than training).

He did what he needed to do for his pride vs Lacy. He's lucky to have survived another four (??) fights past that, IMO.

your right, the motivation was waning

however he still has more then plenty to beat guys like Froch and dawson
and i think for the right price he would've done one more fight in cardiff
there just wasn't a big enough name and a big pot of cash avialable for him to get up for it, that may change

Joe aint far from 40 himself...he'd beat them if they were his age as well

I don't think he has enough for Froch or Dawson right now.

But nor should he fight them. He's done enough vs Kessler - when he was WELL past his best - to prove that anywhere near peak he would've probably won.

The only thing that makes these fights interesting is whwether he could still beat them. While I admit there's a greatness to being able to achieve this, I think it's also pretty cool if he can admit that he can't do it anymore. I really don't understand what the problem is with that.

Sorry did you only watch his last 2 fights? so you missed the ruining of Lacy and the beating of Kessler. 2 young fighters with belts that he fought!

Also Hopkins was the best p4p fighter around his weight who prior to fighting joe had dominated Tarver the man at lhw and then beat Winky who whilst a smaller guy most had him in their top 10 p4p.

RJJ was his favourite fighter and the best fighter of his generation, he fought him in madison square garden where Joe had always wanted to fight so a pretty good send off really.

And I think if Froch or Taylor unified at smw and then moved up Joe would be tempted... or if Dawson beats hopkins maybe he Joe would be tempted.

Ummmm....:huh 37 yr old Hopkins Beats 37 yr old Joe...IMO..Joe was a good fighter but ****..Hopkins has a better resume after 40 then Joe has for a whole a career..I can't see him coming back because if he had wanted to be an all-time great he'd have more desire and fought a couple top prime fighters in the states! Two more big wins would have really lifted his legacy and he did not seem faded at all for his age other than bad hands so he could have done it but who knows...maybe a little time off would reignite his desire..I doubt it though even though I'd like to see it! Taylor wants him, Dawson, Williams, Hopkins, Froch, Kessler, ect...

froch winning against taylor and another big name then calling calzaghe a whelsh ******* should do it. unfortunately froch wont beat taylor so this will never happen.

 No it won't but that would probably do it. Froch has the mouth to get Calzaghe out of retirement, but not the ability, boxing wise!

I think you will take at least a year or more, an then there has got to be a big payday in front of him,,,i was always sad he did not fight in wales one last time,,,i think fans in that part should be upset by that, they were loyal to him, an that is how he repays them,,,still a big fan
