Why does that even matter. Hell why would Donaire call out someone he viciously eradicated? That's silly. People get so caught up in this gossipy BS "Who called out who" game and it's stupid.
Except nobody expected Mijares to knock Vic out. It was decision or bust and we all figured a decision win was in order. Donaire can do both as we've seen before.
Arum is just provoking Vic in the hopes that Vic pressures Shaw to work with Arum on a rematch. Shaw doesn't want to give Donaire a rematch because Donaire abruptly left his stable and went over to Arum. Vic honestly wants a rematch and isn't afraid of Donaire, but he's loyal to Shaw...so far. As for who wins the rematch, well, you always favor the guy who won by KO in the first match, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to make that kind of prediction. But, I don't count Vic out by any means and hope he wins. At least he fights on a regular basis and against top fighters. What the hell has Donaire been doing? Fighting with his dad and losing the momentum he had after beating Vic. The win last weekend was a step in the right direction for him. We'll see what he does now...
And i wouldnt call Donaire's win over Vic viciously eradicating....Vic got caught by a good shot coming in ....it was in no way a vicious eradication ala mayweather vs gatti
Vic was getting handled tho. He didn't land a clean punch all night and was getting tagged repeatedly by clean, hard shots in 3 of the 5 rounds.
It will be an uphill battle against Donaire sure but Vic deserves unlimitted credit for skull raping Bob Arum and being so proactive in making hte rematch happen
It was vicious, Vic stumbled and didn't even recover, how can you say that wasn't vicious?? Vic was also getting beaten really bad by Nonito even before the Vicious KO.
as long as Vic never grow in heigth, he remain an easy prey for Nonito. Nonito is a beast at this sizes. Better for him to move forward and continue building his image and let Nonito chase him. Nonito is a thorn in his path, its best for his career to avoid the man.
If nothing else, I think it's good that he's not hiding or avoiding the situation like an elephant in the room. If nothing else - Post the Donaire loss - His actions have backed up his words. It's a bit of a shame because Donaire hasn't had a lot of opportunities post the victory over Darch - But the form he displayed in his last fight doesn't mean I would be picking Vic in a hurry.
I enjoyed the smack talk. Hopefully it will accelerate the rematch that everyone seems to want to see. Donaire by ko again though.
