    If his parents are Polish, how come his family name became Froch? Do the Polish people change their name to a more English sounding name once they settle in the UK?

    That was very common back in the day.I dont know about 1970's UK but guys like Tony Zale(Zaleski) and Stanley Ketchel(Kiecal) are expamples of it.
