I think he will be too busy and throwing too many spiteful punches. I got him to win by stoppage around 10th. Exciting, if a little reckless fighter.
I'm slightly favouring Appleby to be honest. I'm not sold on him but I don't think Lindsey has dealt with the type of intensity that he will be put under. I'm obviously hoping i'm wrong.
Why do you hope you are wrong, Jeff? The more I analyze this the more I think it could be close, especially in N.Ireland with the financial backing Lindsay has been given by Hayemaker. It would be naive to think this will not have some influence, along with the crowd cheering Lindsay's sporadic efforts. Classic clash of styles with the aggressor against the counterpuncher. To me, this is Appleby's fight to win. He can make this real easy if he fights sensibly, problem is he rarely does. He likes to have a fight. To me he's a big guy with good reach, if he used that he'd beat Lindsay all ends up, because Lindsay stands there waiting for chances. Instead I think his instincts will tell him to be the aggressor, plow forward not thinking about defence and hunting the body. That will give Lindsay plenty of opportunities. Contraversial points decision written all over it.
Because i'm a proud plastic paddy and i'm massively pleased abut the recent resurgence of Irish boxing. I think your analysis is spot on and there will certainly be oppertunities for Lindsey to land but I just think Appleby despite being nowhere near as good as some keener fans potray him has the right style to outhustle the irishman.
I think he will 'outhustle' him, that would be the correct terminology. I think Appleby could make it a lot easier for himself than he probably will. Lindsay is predictable like hell. People talk about Appleby being one dimensional, but Appleby to me shows signs of boxing ability, combined with the ability to be the aggressor, strong in the clinch and to the body. Lindsay circles around waiting to throw a counterpunch all night. If you are not there to counter he loses a lot of rounds. I'm sticking with Appleby to pip it on points.
Lindsay is a bit of a ***** second name when you think about it. It's a female name. Would you call yourself Jeff Sarah. No you wouldn't.
Or Louise, Olivia or Amy? Imagine dating a chick with the surname Andrew, or Stephen.... Vincent, Thomas?
funny you should say that because a guy from "the Road" told me the other day that he put the bould Máirtín flyin across the pub last year - and he's only a wee lad himself! Dont shoot the messenger!
