I would have agreed with you a year ago, but Duddy seems to have improved quite a bit lately. With as weak as the middleweight division is, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to get multiple title shots.

John definitely showed improvement in his last outing. Since Karmazin holds the NABF title at 160, I think Duddy/Karmazin would make a nice eliminator. As another poster pointed out awhile back, "whoever wins earned his ass whoopin."

Im just saying thats the impression i got for speaking to it he seemed completely disinterested in the fight, didnt seem motiviated and just didnt care.

Hes a nice guy all the same and I will be keeping an eye on him going forward

I'm guessing Lyell is a tune up for a fight with Yuri Foreman on the Cotto-Clottey undercard. Personally I'd match John up with Ricardo Mayorga. I think that's an easy fight for him and it would really bump up his market value.

Could be. I heard it could be closer than 'it should be'. Even though Lyell is local, I don't know much about him, but Duddy seems much improved with Burns.

Is it possible to underestimate this guy any lower than he actually is?

Duddy should beat him up. I don't know if he'll stop him, sometimes Lyell appears tough as against Kirkland, againt Lopez not so much. I think Duddy might continue his "boxing" tactic, and this goes to points.

Also in addition to this news Loew advises Duddy to beat Lyell he will need to double up the jab.

Enough already with this hype job on Duddy. He will receive a battering the moment he steps up the competition. It will be all over the moment he steps into the ring with a Pavlick. It's a cash grab boys, plain and simple.:tired

Duddy's an ok fighter but he's lucky the 160 division is pretty thin right now.

The fight he has to want the most is Pavlik and Arum seems on board w/ this.

Duddy's best move would be to stay busy against the Lyells of the world until he gets his shot.

No need to blow a Pavlik fight by taking on a real contender.

After he gets decapitated by Pavlik then he could worry about facing off w/ some of the contenders.
