Rigondeaux wins 10th pro fight in style

Guillermo Rigondeaux completely dismantled and destroyed Teon Kennedy on the PacMan-Bradley undercard, sending a strong message to rivals Nonito Donaire, Jorge Arce, Toshiaki Nishioka and HBO, Top Rank. Next could be Jorge Arce.

he needs to hurry up, have 1-2 fights a month atleast. By the end of the year he should have had over 15 fights and be looking at a world title early next year. He has plenty of speed & explosiveness, depending on how he develops, they may be the first to go.

He needs to get this spat sorted out with the promoters pronto, he's to old as it is to be sat around waiting to start his career, i also agree with the last post, when he does turn pro he has to be fighting 1-2 times a month, he should be on a tyson style start to his career IMO

im looking forward for his first fight and the intersting thing its we don't have to see him fight 20 bums before he get a title shot at least i hope! i wish he get the same kind of opponents progression then Gamboa or Shumenov .

it's always a pleasure to see an olympic gold medalist turn pro and IMO Rigondeaux wouldn't have trouble make the switch between amateur and pro!

Finally, the news we were waiting for: Guillermo Rigondeaux is turning pro on May 22, on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights. He'll fight at 122 pounds, the only division with 3 The Ring P4P-ers (Vazquez, Marquez, Caballero). DeCubas told Rafael that the deal to fight under Arena is being finalized.

Also some crazy news: Rigo's bigtime idol, the great Pernell Whitaker will be part of his training team. You can't get a better advisor than Sweet Pea, can u?

Man, believe me, something special is about to happen to boxing.

not a smart division to try and make it big in, they've got guys like: Juanma, Vasquez, Marquez, Caballero, Penalosa, Molitor, De Leon, that Thai fighter, etc... then you even got guys who could move up like, Hasegawa, Vic, Montiel, Agbeko, Mares, Mijares, and even Donaire

waaayyy to many obstacles for a young fighter, but.....if he does manage to make it to the top of the division, he'll be an instant success and P4P'er

i really dont see the hype behind this guy....he's your typical great amateur boxer, but the pro's are a totally different thing.....sometimes, these guys can't adopt to the pro style....

ERISLANDY LARA is where the money is at...

Sweet Pea is the perfect trainer for the one-punch southpaw wonder that is Rigondeux, he will help him stick to the gameplan.

From what I've seen of his amateur stuff, Rigondeux is fluid, powerful, a great ring general, fast and durable.

He CAN fit into this 122 crowd easily. Bring him on like Tyson Fury, once a month, and by the summer of next year he'll be ready to win a title in a fragmented division that has seen JuanMa and Caballero move up and Vasquez and Marquez on their last legs.

Guys like Hasegawa, Darchinyan and Montiel that may possibly come up will have all sorts of problems that will level the playing field.

I am very, very excited about Rigondeux, I honestly think that he will end up being the most respected out of all these Cubans, although Gamboa might get all of the plaudits to start off with.

Luis Garcia and Erislandy Lara are also brilliant, imagine Garcia vs. Koborov, Sutherland, DeGale, Groves etc etc in two/three years time?

Koborov is the only one who has a chance from what I've seen thus far, apparently Garcia handled Frochy in sparring easily.

But Rigondeux and Sweet Pea seems like a marriage made in heaven, BigBone fair play for keeping us up to date with Guillermo goings on :Good
