Well thats fair enough then. Froch was nowhere near ready for a title shot back then. By the time he was realistically in with any chance against Calzaghe, JC was moving up to the big fights.

what warren means is he offered him peanuts to fight him and wanted an option on his next 6 fights.

In other words when Froch was still pretty green and Warren was feeding JC people who shouldn't have been getting in the ring with him. Sounds like Froch had the sense to know he was being taken advantage of before he was ready.

It would be interesting to find out exactly when this was and see how Froch looked then compared to now.

I know Warren's word is not worth much, but he is not exactly friendly with Calzaghe and he has no reason to lie about this issue.

I haven't forgotten that Froch is just a weird talking loudmouth publicity hound. He's in the right sport for that, but I don't take him the least bit seriously.

:goodExactly! Warren is a snake and I am sure the deal was worse than what Haye was getting offered by the Klits.

I think it's fair to say that Froch, Slappy and Warren are all bending the truth when it comes to this proposed fight.

    That "feller" was I.

I read in a Warren article a while back that he had made offers to both Froch and Bute when they were just prospects to fight Calzaghe...but they both refused. I tried to find that article ever since, because people wanted the source, but I couldn't. Now, finally, it's there, black on white.

well thats correct according to calzaghe at the time too! problem was froch was offered the fight and a career busting pursue (note he was wasn't well know and never really filled seats that much) but he turned it down as he wasn't ready.

Warren and Froch are BOTH ****s.

Either way we all know that Calzaghe would have wiped the floor with Froch.
