NB: This was a ****er of an assignment; I found there wasn't much that seperated a lot of those guys.

NB2: ten times as hard trying to do the H-2-H as opposed to the achievement; all those guys were brilliant in their primes (and in their prime divisions); I could mix and match the H-2-H for the next ten years and still not be happy with the outcome.

I'm finding it very easy to rip other peoples lists apart but very hard to come up with one myself that I'm happy with.

Douglas stopped Tyson... was he a better fighter or did Tyson not perform at his optimum?

i think any combination that we have had so far is good no glaring mistakes it just so ****ing hard

Fair play mate... really like the fact you've taken the time to learn about the sport. IMO Whitiker was an ATG but slightly over-rated. He had a brilliant defence though.

    whats that mean

yeh Whittaker is great might be abit overrated to some people but i think H2H hes in the top 5 Lightweights and hes in the top 30 WWs and i think his achievments and wins are the best on the list.

his defence is amazing i love it but i also like his jab its great

I mean that you have taken the time to watch fighters from the 90's and looked for what they do well and not so well... Bearing in mind that you only joined the sport a couple of years back you should have no concept of the way the sport was back then but you placed all those fighters fairly accurately and got there prime weights spot on... Thats like what I did. When I was like 12-16 I wouldn't miss a thing in boxing... You could ask me anything about anyone and I could tell you a little bit about them... I could name every world champion in every weight division... I was a fanatic and I think you are too.. If you channel that the rght way and continue to develop other skills you will make either a very good boxer or a very good writer because you are learning all about the sport and the stuff that most people miss.

What is Hamed's optimum? There is nothing to say his optimum was ever worthy of greatness, he never beat a great fighter, and when he did he was comprehensively outclassed. No basis whatsoever for saying he's better than Pacquiao.

Hameds optimum was the Robinson fight.

There were two list 'achievement' and 'head to head'

Having watched them both at their best I feel Hamed was the better fighter H2H though obviously less consistant.

What I'm saying is that Hamed's H2H abilities are deceptive, when measured against fighters like Pacquiao that have fought and beat great fighters. It's a lot easier to look good against Robinson than Barrera, Morales or Marquez as Hamed found out. This is largely true for Calzaghe, also.

Hamed never even looks more impressive than the Pacquiao of the last few years. He looks like a better dancer. Better boxer, no way. Hamed would never survive with Marquez he would have been schooled hard, he could never mix it with a Hatton. Tells its own story.

The Barrera Pacquiao beat was hardly over the hill at 28 years old. A whole 2 years later, and Pacquiao beat the guy up and handed him his only stoppage loss.

It really is quite a good indication of their H2H levels. Especially in the context of their other achievements.
