Ledley King's knee is wrecked he needs to retire .. Ive just watched Spurs totally choke in a weak willed, yellow livered fashion at Old Trafford .. They are bottlers, chokers, cowards with no balls .. A competent team could have seen that game out but they came out for the second half like frightened school girls, it was embarrassing.
I want to point out that im a passionate Liverpool supporter, and watching bum teams like Spurs bending over and kissing the shoes of United is ridiculous.
Spurs are a great club with great history, they shouldnt feel inferior when they play United

    He is.

Vidic was the the only constant in the 14 clean sheets. When he was out they lost it.

The stats say when Vidic is subbed United often concede.

Vidic makes more blocks, more tackles, more clearences and more interceptions. The stats are out there.

Hasn't really looked the same the last few weeks though, since Torres mauled the living **** out of him at Old Trafford.

United's defence and keeper have always been over-rated. They are usually so brilliant in midfield and attack that they dont have to defend alot, thats why Ferdinand and Vidic are held up as Cannavaro and Maldini, its ridiculous .. Whats happened in recent weeks is that the United midfield has been as slack as its been in 15 years so the defence has to do more work .. That United midfield is the weakest midfield they've had in 20 years .. Ronaldo is a drama queen, Scholes and Giggs are ageing and Anderson, Nani, Carrick and Park still have to convince that they are United quality.
I'm a Liverpool fan but i respect United, Scoles and Giggs are legends but this United team are there for the taking if teams have the guts to go after them in midfield

    That makes zero sense.

If the midfield is the weakest in 20 years how the hell is the midfield also "brilliant" when it suits your argument that Vidic and Ferdinand aren't that good.

Y'know, this is really a double edged sword. If you commit a lot of players to attack the defence is often exposed. They are excellent.

Could be they're missing a natural holding midfield player to protect the defence, what with Hargreaves being injured; Anderson scraps as best he can, but he's not really up to the job on a full time basis.

Saying that Lennon ran wild on Evra in the first half; so CB or CM may not be were the recent problems have been at.

Your argument is sliding all over the shop there mate. And Cannavarro and Maldini have hardly spent their careers playing behind midfields inhabited by talentless donkeys...

    Worst post ever.

Man Utd's defence only look good, because they have a brilliant midfield....you then say the midfield is poor.

Then you mention Cannavaro and Maldini. Maldini's had people like Seedorf, Pirlo, Kaka etc in front of him, real shite eh?

And no to the original point, same for Woodgate.

It's easier to be talented and injury prone and say 'He could have been the best' than it is to stay fit and actually prove it.

Carrick is reasonable but not outstanding on the defensive side. He often takes up good positions, and intercepts. Not much of a tackler or energetic player though.

    Fletcher gets about.

Anderson should be a box to box player. Last few games he's started to come good.

You are right, none are exclusively DM's. I'm a firm believer you don't need a specialist defensive midfielder if you play posession football and have good responsible and tactically aware players. To me its a waste of a player to have a guy sitting there.

Evra was completely exposed by Nani. If you are one on one with Lennon he has the potential to skip past anybody. He looked mentally scarred from the CC final mind, didn't get tight because he was scared of his pace. Luckily Lennon's end product is not the best.

I'm a fan of Lennon. He tends to polarise opinion. I can see why some don't rate him, but honestly if you get hold of this kid and tell him to get his noggin up and look where he's passing the ball he'd be a top player. The problem is he skips past a player, but he just plays the ball into an area where he hopes the striker would be instead of having any convinction and looking for a team mate.
