cho and tokuyama won in their backyard, gerry has a case on both of these fights.

props to gerry for having a big heart, and KUDOS to JuanMa Lopez for winning the fight impressively

give me a good reason why penalosa lost in his rematch with cho and tokuyama?

penalosa is a special fighter because of his heart and not because of his boxing ability...if you really think penalosa has a great ability answer why did he lost in his rematch with cho and tokuyama?

I agree, I think he got a little too caught up on fighting for the crowd and trying to get the TKO though. Good observations.

gerry was outclassed in those four fights..he was lucky to get a draw in the first fight with cho...

he never won more than 5 rounds in the tokuyama fights

The only thing I didn't like about Juanma is that he's easily baited into a fight of wills.
Maybe he can learn to pick his spots and don't waste too much energy throwing unnecessary punches.

Don't forget that those fights against Cho and Tokuyama were very close fights that were won in their own backyards.

I can't stand people who say Gerry is limited based on what they have seen of him just now. The guy looked like a freaking Hobbit in there taking punches from a gigantic troll like character from LOTR but he could have still gone until the end of the fight for more.

122 is simply too much for him as evidenced by his fight here and his previous fight with De Leon. Gerry should have stuck to much lower weights.

In any event, the man has earned respect tonight if he did not have it from most people already.

    EXACTLY!

Penalosa is past his best, way way above his best weight, and banging with one of the hardest punchers in world boxing. The guy is incredible. Didn't even look like getting stopped.

Max Kellerman: "You just stopped someone whos never been stopped"

    STFU. Nobody stopped Gerry tonight.

Good stopppage a fighter that take that many kind of punishment are going to affect his life for ever, so STFU all of you filipino nuthuggers a guy that take that brutal punishment need to be stoped. Wow two recerd in the same fight a damm 60+ percentenge landed. Penalosa was game but simply outclased, Lopez didn't let him trow too much, not land to much. Just getting overpowered. Penalosa after this beating need to retire. He willl not be the same.

gerry is still the best 118 fighter...he can beat montiel and im picking gerry to beat montiel who is a natural 115 pounder...there is a shallow pool right now at 118

:patsch Penalosa was all smiles and waying to the fans. Don't over exaggerate the beating. He very rarely got hit square in the face flush, and he wanted to continue and could have seen the 12th..dare I say it, easily.

Penalosa is still a natural 115 fighter in my eyes, going to 122 and taking all those shots from JuanMa, words cannot describe this man's heart and chin.
