Rudyard, I thought the exact same thing and figured Jermain would take a wide decision. So, instead of making another thread, I'll just piggyback on yours since you summed it up better than I could :!:... but damn- I don't mind being wrong when it's attached to a great fight. Big time props to Froch for snatching victory from the jaws of defeat and doing it the hard way.:thumbsup
People need to stop wheeling out Kessler. The guy screwed up with his promoter. It's like saying 'that Ferrari can beat your piece of **** car, the only problem is it's locked in the garage'.
I give a lot of respect to Froch. It was one heck of a fight. I picked Taylor to win, and I feel very sorry for Taylor, because he is a great fighter, and I hope no one will say he isn't any good, put him down like that, he just fought another great fighter. If two great fighters fight each other, someone will lose, no matter what. That is the way sports is. It is impossible to have two winners. But, the way both guys gave it their all, the quality of fighting, and the heart and classicness of it all, there was truly two winners tonight. After seeing this fight, I feel like never geting into arguments with other posters anymore, and have respectful discussions from now on. Lets just all be thankful for the great fight we witnessed tonight.
I will look at Froch a lot closer now, i did not think he would beat Taylor....but he is a serious dude...MTfkrs intense
out of the big name brits, i've always like froch the most. i thought he'd lose to taylor due to styles, and in part that happened as taylor was winning rounds just boxing. but man, what coolness under fire from froch tonight. he never stopped fighting, and that paid off in spades. his fight against pascal was entertaining, and this fight with taylor was great ****ing drama! i'm on the froch express!
Froch will always outboxed..... but not many ppl can outfight him If fights were still 15 rounds Froch would be one of the best in the world I have no doubt about that
Correct..... big respect to both fighters :good Both kept on trading big blows..... and well done to Taylor for getting up and hanging on for alot longer than he should have
The general consensus backs up that assumption based on his skillset and potential but he really needs a few more big fights to assert his dominance over 168. In terms of pure talent no one can touch him at 168 now that Calzaghe has moved on. Kessler is definitely the most technical boxer at SMW with a great jab and air tight defense. His handspeed & blazing combinations(when he lets his hands go) are something to behold. He reminds me of a superior version of the 154lb fighter Dzinziruk but with better power and ring generalship.
I felt a little sad watching Jermain crumble in the corner, almost like he did against Pavlik. Props to Froch though!
Froch got outboxed and dropped, only to come back to batter Taylor in the dying seconds of the final round in a genuine world title fight. That's the kind of style that makes boxing great......
