I agree. I like Jermaine and wanted him to win but there are tougher guys than Froch out there. Jermaine does not do anything great. If he could put Hopkins experience and boxing knowledge to his reflexes he would have beaten everyone.
Hmmm isn't it called a rubber match because you have to of won one match each and the 3rd could go either way? Anyway I actually thought Taylor looked awesome tonight, good hand speed, in the first 4 rounds his timing seemed too good but I think Pavlik is wrong for him as he will walk him down and JT doesn't last if he fights off the back foot. I think he is a better boxer but styles make fights.
Bottom line is Jermain had all the cards in his favor for this fight, and still couldn't pull it off. And, in his losses, he's absorbed a brutal amount of punishment. I'd think long and hard about calling it a day if I were him, but he probably won't until he gets knocked out again.
Froch deserved to win that is for sure. Taylor has some weakness now. Seems like when he knocks someone down he gets stopped. Maybe had he not knocked down Froch he would have won a decision.
I am honestly sad about this fight. Mainly because I like Taylor and he fought them all. Jermaine is a guy who does not disrespect fighters like Mayweather does and he fights everyone-something Mayweather does not do. Regardless of losing tonight he is a class act and has been very good for boxing.
He provided boxing fans with 2 of the most dramatic finishes of the 21st century. And for that, I thank him.
