Kelly looks to hurt his opponents. Froch has NOTHING on him in that category. Yeah, he is bigger. That is the point. All the Froch fans calling out the smaller guy. But, he beat Taylor quicker in the first fight and in the second he fought most of that with a right hand they thought might be broken.

I think the point is that taylor fought a good defensive boxing ability fight last night and pavlik will be easier for froch to land on.

It will come down to who can take whos power.

I think Kelly's straighter punches will give Froch something to think about

Him PFP it is questionable that Froch hits harder than Pavlik.
I would have to go the other way around. I do not see this fighting happening though. No reason it should. So it doesn't matter.
168 has ALLOT of good fights.
Just not MEGA fights * where the fighter could retire after just 1. First he should fight Kessler. BUT no one seams to call out Kessler or even mention his name. And he is THE man at 168. So WTF on that? There is Andrade. Whom would be a good fight against Froch. Not sure who would win cause Andrades chin makes Frochs look like a school girl.
You have Bika. Who we all know is a beast who will throw bombs. And takes a HELL of a punch. Bute could outbox Froch but that probably wont happen. Even a rematch with Taylor would be good. BUT in England and not the US. *I think it could be a HUGE fight if held over there.

Man Taylor must be pissed at his ass for not holding on.
Or low blowing one time in the twelfth.

Taylors key weapon was his speed, Pavlik doesn't have that.

I like both fighters but Foch is sort of a bigger version.

Oh man this fight is sooo ****ing wrong for Pavlik. Pavlik is a tank only a few (extremely affective) tools in the tool box. Froch has far too many tools in the tool box for Kelly.

    Hopkins would stop Froch though.

Yep. One thing I left out in another post, but I think another thread. So the list of things Pavlik fans have had to live with and Froch fans will now have to live with.

Ring smarts. Doesn't clinch when hurt, just goes to the ropes.
Stamina. Maybe he just doesn't have the plumbing for 12 rounds.
Doesn't know how to finish. See ring smarts?

So yeah, as a Pavlik fan I have to question how good those wins over JT were and Froch fans will have to do the same thing since we just saw an almost exact repeat.

Again, this was the point of the thread anyhow. Froch fans calling out Kelly, the smaller guy. Kelly can grow into the weight, he has the frame but they want him NOW while it is a miss match in weights.

And Kelly is better defensively than he gets credit for. Hopkins aside when he wasn't physically fit to be in the ring.

A newb that gets the point. :thumbsup Why were there four or five Froch fans calling out for Kelly in an earlier thread if they think their guy is THE GUY at 168 now? :huh

Froch is nothing like Pavlik. The only link is they both like to out tough and overpower their opponents.

Other than that, Froch fights with a completely different style. Pavlik is an upright traditional boxer with a solid guard and a long pumping jab. Froch fights with a half guard which is why he is so poor defensively, because the half guard is reliant on reaction speeds and Froch isn't Roy Jones, he isn't even 'okay' in that area. Pavlik is a very straight puncher, Froch loops his punches.

Froch vs Pavlik would be a great fight though, awesome matchup. Although i don't think particularly highly of Pavlik against anyone who can box well, he has a stylistic advantage over Froch with his rangey straight punching. He also has great stamina and can keeps his hands up for 12 rounds. Anyone with good footwork who can utilise angles would give Pavlik hell (Hopkins, Calzaghe) but that isn't Frochs forte. Pavlik would give him hell, but the size issue (coming up in weight) would add an interesting unknown factor to the fight.

Is it too early or too late that you completely missed the point? And Froch is a belt holder, hardly THE MAN at 168. But, you missed the point of the thread, so why would I expect you to know that?

Froch is so easy to hit anyone who misses him should apoligize and surrender their boxing license. The fact that JT put Froch on his ass in the 3rd means one thing; Pavlik would put him on hiss repeatedly until he stayed down.

You have a point about Froch though.
