The man is limited technically but has three major factors that can make & keep a champion. A great chin , A great punch & a big heart.....:good Already I have seen the threads making excuses for JT & dissmissing CF & to be honest its ****ing pathetic. I'm not a Froch fan but I take my hat off to a man who has gone to the states & beat a name in his backyard and to be honest I dont give a **** how he wins but he won in exciting style with a great finish. I have read people saying how "limited" he is & how poor he is but if all fighter were technical wonders our sport would be pretty ****ing boring. The bottom line is the man won the fight by stopping is opponent so please can all the haters stop embarresing there selves & stfu....:good
Most people, in the immediate aftermath of the fight responded with something along the lines of 'wow, Froch has a ton of heart and a great chin, but jeeezus his defense sucks' - thats a fair response, if you don't like it don't visit message boards, just read the results in the paper.
The funniest part is fu%kers are now discrecting Froch victory as "he was mostly out boxed" etc etc:roflatsch FOOLS.. Was somebody actually waiting Froch some what out class Taylor etc? Froch did exactly what people was believing him to do in that fight if it was going for Froch favourite..
Is defense as always been a problem and it'll be even worse if he fought kessler, because unlike taylor kessler will stay on him and not run out of steam. I'm still in shock and agree with duke MCkENZIE it was the last scene out of Rocky II
I thought JT would win but was impressed with Froch last night. A lot of people have been talking rubbish, saying he's a C class fighter and only won because Taylor ****ed it up somehow. You wonder what a fighter has to do to earn the respect from some fans.
Well, Froch was largely outboxed. What do you want people to say? This is a discussion board, where people can talk abou tthe events that actually happened in the fight. DO you guys just want to hear people saying what the result was? I'm not sure why you would visit a forum for that...
You make good points. But at the end of the day it probably balances out the riduculous hype that the guy will get as well from other members of the boxing fan fraternity. I would like to see him fight Andrade and Bika to sort out who is the best of those big-balled crude fighters. Then he can go on to test the heart of fighters like Bute and Kessler who are a cut above him, if he gets passed the other two that is.
It's because of his mouth that people hate on him more than anything. I don't think you can argue with people who say he's a very good fighter with too many flaws to ever be considered truely world class though.
These people aren't real fans, just haters and glory hunting fan boys. Any fan of the sport would give Froch his dues.
It's not hating. Hating would be dissing him for no apparent reason. That's not what's going on. People have seen Froch in the first truly big fight of his life, and have seen the fact that his defence is ****-poor and the fact that his victory was largely unconvincing. Yes, he has a good chin and a big heart, but he hasn't shown that he's a top-class boxer.
You speak the truth. I think it's clear to many people that a truly world class fighter is going to use him as a punhcing bag in the not too distant future and it's going to be a really bad battering, think Kessler v Andrade. But props to the guy for taking serious flaws and crude skills all the way to near the top based on guts, heart and chin alone.
Well, it's a particular situation. In the same night. Carl Froch proved that he is a legitimate champion and one of the best at 168lbs. In the other hand, he was also floored by a blown up middleweight and took 12 round to do what Pavlik did in six. So all in all, Froch did very good but it was also pretty far from a perfect fight for him. The good think is this win should get him the big fights that he needs to prove that he is the best at 168lbs. Good luck to him. I'm looking forward to his next fight.
"Largely unconvincing" are you for real ? he left Taylor in a heap atsch Funniest part for me is the fact a below par Froch fought turned up last night, had he been more foused i dont think the fight would have gotten past 8 or 9 rounds.
I'm pretty sure that Pavlik Taylor 2 went to decision. Also i think that a Tayor would outbox Kessler for the first half of the fight. Taylor can box rings round almost anyone for 6 rounds. Infact im not even sure that Kessler could catch a Taylor on his bike. It was due to Froch being relentless and a bit reckless that made him catch up to Taylor. Something that i dont think Kesser do
