No lost respect . . . but disappointed. He was on his way to a decission victory when he got starched. Disappointed in his lack of stamina.
I have respect for every fighters that give it all in the ring. Nice fight. Too much disrespect toward any loser here in ESB. I can't believe some are always laughing at a guy getting koed. SO much hate on guys who lose a fight. Laughing at their performance, at their chin or their stamina. SOme of you just derserve a beating.
Just what i was saying. The guy lost in the 12th round against the champion and was ahead on the scorecards. Not elite? Guy finishing 2nd on the Olympic 100 meters is not elite? MORON.
Got to admire the way he came forward when he was pretty much out of it in the 12th, up to then he was going at it hard and was toe to toe with a hard fighter in the 11th
I view Taylor more favorably because he took the loss like a man. he didnt start blaming his training camp, he didnt blame the ref, and he didnt blame anything on some stupid **** like ring size or some bull**** like that. Plus he gave it his best. When he flurried in the 11th, it showed how much he is putting on the line.
Taylor reminds of a pitcher, who pitches well for 8th innings, and during the 9th the ****er gives up a grand slam. His got talent, but can't put the pieces together. He didn't lose anything but money. He is 29, but it might be a while before he gets another big shot. And with his lack of motivation, possibly it might never be.
I always respect Jermain Taylor. He has consistently fought the biggest, hardest challenges. It is terrible how few people are able to recognize that. Dispute the decisions, talk about his stamina, do whatever, but see the whole picture. He fights EVERYONE.
He got a lot of respect from me. He was a warrior last night. In fact I felt bad for him at the end. Great fighter, but his stamina needs some work.
Damn that Taylor, he damn sure knows how to make an easy fight hard. The guy is a pure class act, though, unlike alotta the scumbags that permeated into boxing. Nice guy but he's got a head like a rock. I swear if somebody can manage to get through to him he'll be a quality fighter. It doesn't matter how many "Yes, sirs" he says in the corner the truth remains he doesn't ****in' listen. And that along with his durability issues have been his achilles heel. I'm not a fan but it's very difficult to actually hate Jermain Taylor the man.
On one level Jermain Taylor is a class act, and I like him a lot as a person. However, on another level Taylor, and Ozell Nelson, completely blew it last night, and that is hard to respect. I am not a trainer, and my boxing experience is limited to small time amature stuff when I was a kid. I said repeatedly that from the 8th round on JT should fire 2-3 quick shots, clinch, force a break, and do it again; wash, rinse, repeat. If JT had done that, we would now be talking about how he schooled Froch in a near shut out. If I could see that, how come a professional fighter and his trainer could not. Like I said, that's hard to respect.
He should have everyone's respect. He always goes out and does his best to give the fans a great fight. Just a shame that he ran out of the gas the last couple of rounds.
