I agree. Froch seems like a decent fighter, but if he can do this to Taylor then some other fighters can. There is a blueprint here for Taylor now. Put a little pressure on him and he has trouble, expecially the Taylor now. I think the Taylor who beat Hopkins would have won this fight with Froch.
He is done at true ELITE level. He will comeback at a smaller level,like last night,lose again and retire.
i dont know... if you look at taylor's record he never fought big time offensive fighters who can bang... i think thats his weakness... esp after pavlik... he fights afraid now imo... i think he's done.. the combination of losses and the style of his losses are totally difficult to rebound from and it takes a special man to come back from that... if he completely disapeared i wouldnt be surprsed at all... i mean he didnt just get ko'd or something ... he got KNOCKED THE **** OUT ! in a fight that he was winning in the last 15 seconds...
I think he'll be back. The only problem is his stamina, lack of survival skills, and lack of assertiveness. He's a lazy fighter who fights his opponents fight. He needs a tough trainer who can get through to him.
He will be back, but he will never be elite again. He will probably lose to another quality SMW after a tuneup fight then retire. The only top level fighter between 160 and 168 he would have a chance against is Abraham.
Good point. I agree in a way. Something about his defense is just not that great or like you say he is too aware of being hit now. A guy does not just fall in the 12th because he is standing there, he was being hit by something to make him fall like that. It might be over. I would be surprised if he comes back and beats Froch in a rematch.
Hard to say. I hope he'll come back and stay the course at 168. Boxing would be a poorer place without him, regardless of what you may think of him personally. But, how does he bounce back from a defeat at the hands of Froch?
he is scared of heavy hands... you could tell after the 4th round... he was just so worried about feeling froch's power that he was extremely passive.. if he got a froch rematch he would lose worse than this fight... he would be extremely tentative
I disagree. When Wlad was knock out by Brewster people thought or "knew" he was finished. As Klitschko fan, I would say Jermaine is P4P better fighter, so he has the skills to return from the "dead." But what he lacks is the motivation and the focus. He knocked down Pavlik and was ahead on the cards. The second fight was very close. And against Froch he was also ahead. It's not like this fool is being murdered out there, so I think he can bang with them. In his post fight intervew, he said stamina wasn't an issue, but that he figured he was ahead on points and just got careless and didn't needed to really press on. To me that shows lack of mental toughness' and it is big achilles heeel, but I think with the right group of team and a trainer, he might be able to overcome it. PLus he is only 29-30, still young.
