Larry Holmes vs Wladimir Klitschko

Holmes destroys him by stoppage between seven and nine rounds ..

 

Larry Holmes would win, by late stoppage or decision...in my opinion.

 

Larry was the better fighter although Vlad's size would make it interesting. Larry was so much better than Vlad I think he would still win by stoppage.

 

Larry: clear UD.

 

Stylisitcally this is a bad fight for Larry. Like Larry Wlad's best weapon is his jab, only Wlad is bigger stronger and equally as quick with it. Unless Larry gets inside and makes a rough fight, I would favor Wlad. Yikes call me crazy, but I think Wlad wins a boxing match. atsch

Agreed, Holmes is the better technician, faster, better athlete, more natural fighter. Wlad is too upright and uncomfortable on the inside to hang with Holmes. I can see it being close at the mid way point before Holmes pulls away and takes over before scoring a late stoppage

 

Holmes' jab is superior, his chin is superior, as is his movement.

Holmes, late stoppage over 15, wide PTS over 12.

 

When was Holmes such a dynamic infighter? Not sure he is faster than Wlad either. Fighting tall and having a very effective jab, would be an advantage for Wlad against another fighter who fights similarly to him dont you think?

 

Mid rounds stoppage for Holmes. Wlad's too upright, poor chin and has a tendency to panic when the going gets tough. Don't believe this would be particularly competitive.

 

i suspect anyone voting for holmes is

A) needs to stop living in the past

B) see A

 

Larry wins.He out jab's Klitschko then everything else falls into place.Larry had to much talant and skill for Klitschko.

 

i think this is a good match for wlad.he beats holmes,ud decision,or even late tko...
he is just bigger,stronger,and imo better skills...
holmes wasnt a big puncher so wlad would use his big left hook..
bad match up for wlad are agressive boxers with a big punch and constant pressure...

 

I can't see how Wlad could keep up the pace Larry had, even in a twelve round fight, I also can't see Wlad catching Larry with his punches because Larry is so much faster and to me Wlad looks flatfooted. I think Larry outpointing him is the more obvious choice but I voted for stoppage taking into factor that Wlad was born without a chin, also Wlad would be gassing later on where Larry could take him out... just my opinion.
