:good Taylor's stamina issues played a big part but you have to credit Froch for staying composed during the last round and forcing the stoppage. Lesser fighters probably wouldn't have done the same and may have been too eager in the 12th and waste their chance of a stoppage.

I had it 106-103 going into the 12 whilst watching it on a stream. Taylor's speed was the key for him and was landing his jab almost at will.

However, when I rewatched it this morning it seemed a much closer fight. Froch's jab seemed more effective on a clearer video of the fight and a lot of the rounds seemed more closer and could have gone the other way. Froch was certainly not outclassed until the 12th and boxed well in patches.

In future Froch needs to stick behind his jab rather than winding up big shots as Taylor saw them coming a mile off.

Ultimately, it was a case of Taylor not being able to take Froch's best shots.

Ortega was the ref I believe so that couldn't have been his scorecard.

    you're right. From boxrec:

    ~ time: 2:46 | referee: Mike Ortega | judge: Nobuaki Uratani 102-106 | 102-106 | judge: Jack Woodburn 106-102 ~

The 2nd judge isn't named for some reason :huh

Just watched the fight. Thought was an exciting fight. The last round I was on the edge of my seat. I had Taylor up 106-103 going into the last round and so felt Froch needed the KO or a few KD's. He definately pulled it out of the bag.

Taylor had stamina problems from around the middle rounds. He started very well and then just dropped off, letting Froch get back into it.

Props to Froch for getting the job done, but he is such a slow starter. I don't think he would beat Bute or Kessler. Unless Bute decides to become a brawler like he did in the last round of the Andrade fight.

yea sorry, I cut and pasted it after a few drinks and allnighter...

The scores given are all correct, just that the refs name some how got mixed up in there. Probably because the second judge isn't named...

Alot of people talk about Frochs jab. The fact is his jab is not any good unless is left arm is more bent. When it's just dangling he is too slow with it cos he has to pull it up and then shoot it forward. If the left hand is roughly around his chest he'll have all the [awkward] advantages he has now as well as being able to let a much faster straighter jab go. On the few occassions he does this, it is good. This is the main thing to be considered when discussing Froch's jab.

how can you give it 10-8 if these 2 knockdown.

    Its a 100% Froch round - 10 - 9
    1st KD - 10 - 8
    2nd KD - 10 - 7

Also i think Froch would of knocked him down and Taylor would not of got up.

Rewatching it wide awake, I had 106-102 Taylor.

Think Carls used up all his luck and hope Taylor gets another world title....

I had Carl one point up after 11, but suspected he was behind on the official cards although never by four points!!!! Just goes to show doesn't it?

For me Taylor was awarded rounds where he only fought the last ten second burst to try and nick it

This wasn't a Tarver V RJJ, close your eyes, put your head down, loop a punch, sneak in between the guard, land a money punch victory.

    Froch made his own luck.
