The "Page" travesty could've been prevented...... Christ, in all fairness, Greg Page should've never boxed / fought again after being TKO'd by Razor Ruddock in 1992 on Showtime...... Page was game, but also worn by '92.......... To carry on fighting past 1992 would only prove futile.... I know, I know, the same ol' bull****... I NEED THE MONEY!! What else is new?? By 2001, Greg Page was ancient and well on his way to a solid case of dementia..... The blows he took in the ring had caught up to him....... Greg Page first began to get hurt in boxing in 1982 when he lost to Trevor Berbick..... After the loss to Berbick, Greg Page had a tiff with Tim Witherspoon.... The only highlight during that period was kayoing Gerrie Coetzee in 1984 for the WBA title.... That victory was short-lived.... Once Page blew the title to Tony Tubbs in 1985, he become a "win / lose" type of fighter....... Sad, but so true......... Bottom line: Page had NO BIDNESS fighting Dale Crowe in Kentucky in 2001 at 42 long ass yrs of age........... Cheerio...... MR.BILL
Jesus christ, we don't need to be losing fighters in their 50's... Don't need to be losing them like this period, but this makes it that much worse.
RIP to one of the more talented heavyweights of his, or really any generation. When he was on (which wasn't all the time, I grant), he was very impressive. You'll be missed, Greg.
