Pac-Hatton or Mayweather-Marquez, who does more PPV buys in the US?

I think it'll be a close race. Pac-Hatton has had a lot more time to build, if indeed PBF-JMM is July 18. But Mayweather has more crossover status than ever before, he's even in a new commercial. I don't recall seeing him in commercials much prior to this one.

Marquez will have his base to draw from as well.

I think, with proper promotion, Floyd-JMM will indeed do more buys in the US.

Agreed. People are anxious to see the true p4p #1!

Mexican's that don't even really like Marquez will watch it because its a Mexican vs the #1 p4p (American) fighter.

Pac and Hatton, neither is American.

Marquez and Maywaether. One is Mexican (like 90% of America) and the other is American.

I dont see how JMM-PBF would be a big draw. If anything I think it does around 600k. JMM doesnt have the backing for that and PBF has only ever done big numbers with big names, Hatton & DLH.

JMM is a big draw now and PBF is a huge draw.

The thing is people will watch is simply because he is Mexican with a shot at beating Mayweather. It does not matter that JMM himself is not a huge draw.

JMM has never been a big draw. Except for his fight with Pac who was the draw, tell me a fight that sold well? Heck Pac-Solis sold more than any of JMM's fights. JMM-Casamayor did less than 100k buys, JMM status hasnt changed since then, he hasnt become p4p #1 and he hasnt fought a big fight to put him in the mainstream.

The reason Hatton-Pac is a big fight is because both guys are big names, Pac being p4p #1 and beating ODLH has catapulted him into mainstream and Hatton already was. JMM has a fanbase with the mexicans and Floyd will draw in most of the crowd...Floyd however needs a credible opponent and most are already viewing JMM as a tuneup or too small...I dont see why it would draw anymore than PBF-Judah.

Only us Boxing fans view it as a mismatch and I bet most of us will buy it!

The general fans don't see it as such a mismatch, they see big name vs big name.

Is this a joke? This is not even close, Pac-Hatton by far will gross higher in PPV in US, Mexico, anywhere.

Hatton gets more ppv buys than any other american fighter.
Hatton v pac would be the biggest.

    in the U.S., pbf-marquez.
mexicans will go nuts for this fight, since one of their fighters is fighting the best, and americans will buy ppvs w/ an american involved.

worldwide hatton-pacman will have more. theyre bigger names together, globally, and the U.K. buys will be huge.

It'll be close actually. I figure Floyd's return to boxing (plus JMM's renewed mexican fan base) will make a strong push. People love comebacks...and I have to imagine Floyd's comeback will garner 300,000 regardless of his opponent. Add in JMM and his fanbase, people who've seen Floyd from Wrestlemania, American fight fans who are ridiculously patriotic and some good old fashioned HBO 24/7 hype and yeah..it could be close.
