? :huh If it wasn't for Cortez' reffing and Grahams **** poor training then theres every chance that Hatton would have won the P4P championship from Mayweather and the Pac fight would just be a title defence for Ricky.
Was Graham ever a good trainer?? Like boxing trainer, not a personal trainer. Did anybody seriously deep down in their heart think this guy offered good advice in the corner? Did he know **** tactically? Seems to me he was bollocks and the everlasting memory is of him running around the ring with a foot rest strapped across his chest. I think Hatton carried him for his whole career. Graham got him fit, which was integral to his style, thats all I give him credit for. If he had a trainer with some boxing nous from an early age he could have been a far more defensively complete fighter, a far more rounded fighter. It's not as if he was a crap amateur or lacks boxing skill. He's shown glimpses all too rarely. Imagine if his physical attributes were complemented by better boxing ability.
When was the lawsuit filed/announced? Just now? Right before the Pac fight?...hmm....funny how ex trainers/promoters like to time it this way. Almost as if there's some common link other than the money to their purpose but the subtlety of the tactic is just too deep to figure it out......:think
Fair enough Gaz OC, I thought you were being sarcastic, but yes the reffing didn't help. But after 18 months of Contemplation, I think hatton was to wound up and lost his cool another reason why he lost.
I have done some contract law and cases have gone through for verbal contracts in the past and will do again.
If Graham says he had a verbal agreement with Hatton to got 10%, and had got that for the 43 fights prior to Mayweather and Lazcano, he has a very good case.
good old hatton one of the lads, i read hattons book and him and graham were like best mates, now he just leaves him alone with his pack of twenty benson and without 1.5 milllion hatton earned 15 million thats a big pay day
how much has ricky hatton earned in the course of his career? must be 20/30 million comfortably therefore graham has taken in 2/3 million pounds for training ricky? how much would he have made if ricky hatton had not walked into the gym? sounds like a lot of sour grapes, but i have done contract law, and if billy had been getting 10 for the previous fights of his career he will be entitled to the money for this one too
Well not necessarily. If his training is below par, if he had health issues, if he missed a few sessions. Ifs, buts = variables. Sounds like bullsh!t to me to be honest.
If he had missed sessions we would of heard about it, if he was a bad trainer they should of sacked him before the fight. Simple as. Graham should of had a contract in place, but, he has a case. Hatton has a ridicloous deal with sky where he gets 50% of the £15 PPV if theres over 800,000 buys. Add that to the minimum for 3mil he will get from them per fight already and then the smaller percentage for the first 800,000 buys yours looking at 15mil from UK TV alone. and the US Dollar was at 2 for 1 that time.
