It isn't indisputable at all Taylor is not a non-puncher, he had Pavlik seeing stars, more than Hopkins managed. Taylor also beat Hopkins - Joe's best win - twice. Jones is among THE most gun-shy fighters still fighting today. He doesn't even throw punches. So his power is irrelevant. That was one mighty biased post chief. Enzo was talking crap.
Taylor has one win over Hopkins. Don't remember Calzaghe ever winning. Enzo is just a clown....... but the circus left town a while ago and it ceased being funny a while ago.
95% of Taylor's fights were at middleweight and he wasn't considered a big puncher there. No knockouts in 4 years is the evidence. Jones is 40% of the fighter he used to be but he still retains his power and is still accurate with the punches he does show, as demonstrated against Calzaghe. Froch is very easy to hit and Jones would nail him for certain. Would Froch be able to stand up to his punches? Not on Saturday night's evidence. Taylor edged two razor thin decisons against Hopkins that could have gone either way. It wasn't a biased post. Look at what I've said in other threads, I'm a Froch fan myself, just saying that he is way wide of the mark with the whole Calzaghe thing, deep down he knows it himself. He is in awe of Calzaghe and that's why he can't stop talking about him.
Jones hasn't stopped anyone for a long, long time. He couldn't even stop a blown up welter weight, out the game for years, and rustier than god knows what. He also wasn't just knocked out by Tarver and Johnson, 4 years or so ago, he was put to sleep. He was still lying there as the crowd left the stadium.
At least Froch didn't just hide behind some fish-eyed joke and defend against bums for the best part of a decade. Froch has achieved in 25 fights what JC achieved in 43 - and do you know what, Joe/Enzo..... you only have yourselves to blame!
He stopped Sheika in his last fight, last month. Taylor hasn't stopped anyone in 4 years yet floored Froch heavily and badly hurt him several times. Look at my last post, I agreed that Jones doesn't throw as many punches as he used to but when he does he is very accurate and it was clear for all to see on Saturday how easy Froch is to hit.
Calzaghe UD. As has been said, it would be a Lacy II. It's not happening anyway, Calzaghe has pissed all over the bonfire that was starting to gently kindle.
atsch I'm sick of having this argument with people on here so I'm not gonna argue anymore. Just do me a favour, go on boxrec, compare records, then feasibly me how you can reach this conclusion. Taylor was the first former world champ Froch had faced. How many had Calzaghe beaten after 43 fights?
calzaghe EASY UD. joe would make froch look absolutely terrible in there. he would simply smother froch, move laterally, and flurry all night. he would make froch's head spin.
Ahh forgot about that total joke of a fight. If you even ignore Sheika's absolutely diabolical run going into it, losing god knows how many fights, the stoppage itself was a farce and diabolical. Have you seen that fight? It was a joke. I stopped up for that and was pretty annoyed at the way the hometown ref stopped it. It stunk to high heaven. Not that Sheika as an opponent had anything to offer. Anyway, Taylor in general has been fighting quality, which distorts his true power as they negate it. Sheika is pure tripe nowadays, not that he was that great to begin with. The stoppage was hardly a display of power was it?
Who does stop Hopkins? He floored Pavlik heavily and badly hurt him also. Spinks is a small runner, hard to land on him. Ouma cut Taylor which discouraged him. Lacy got hit a 1000 times against Calzaghe and never got stopped. The reason Taylor doesn't really stop people is because his right hand is telegraphed. But he caught Froch with one he didn't see, hence why he went down.
Taylor was told he needed the last round and went out fighting instead of coasting, if he survived that round we'd be talking of how exposed Froch was and how right Enzo is. Taylor's last few fights showed he's not as really a great fighter, two losses to Pavlik, average win against a diminished Lacy, controversial draw with Wright and a terrible outing against Spinks and Ouma, and the Hopkins fights also. You also have to consider he's the smaller man, doesn't follow boxing, has notorious stamina problems, lacks concentration and hardly ever clinches when in trouble.
