It's a mismatch and a cherrypicked opponent for a comeback.
Marquez is a career FW who is small for a LW and was pushed around by Diaz.He punches good but nothing extraordinary,at 145 his power will go down.His defense is leaky and Mayweather's precise,accurate punches will put him to sleep surely.
This is a copy of de la Hoya vs Mayorga with Marquez probably doing somewhat good early on.

If Floyd Mayweather can abandon his weight class and fight champs in the next division 5times so can JMM. I think people rise the bar too high for Floyd is pretty unfair. Marquez is 5'7 floyd is 5'8 floyd never carried his power after 140 thats why he pot shot. Marquez can obviously punch at 135 for he ko the great chinned Juan. 140 he would be like Mayweather and loses some pop but he is fighting someon slightly bigger.

 

JMM called floyd to 140??? I don't remember that but anyways Floyd is fighting JMM in a catchweight so is not like Floyd is not compromising with JMM. Floyd laid off for 18 months. He may have to spent most of his camp to lose whatever weight he put on. Vegas will not put JMM as a big underdog. I say Vega will make JMM a +360 dog. JMM is skilled if Vegas have JMM as a 5-1 dog then yes is a mismatch. Regardless of what weight Floyd will beat JMM anyways bc he is obviously better fighter.
