No, the worst would be Larry Holmes' era. Followed closely by the eras of Marciano & Louis.

Ruslan was a very good heavy before injuries, inactiveness and such took away his main skillset.

    WTF?:huh

Did you forget about the Klitschkos? Everyone in Lewis' era certainly didn't look like Lewis. Also, Lewis (BTW) according to his own fans... had a bad habit of showing up out of shape.

To be fair the top heavies were all in great shape. Lewis, Golota, Tua before he discovered girl scout cookies, Rahman, Ruiz, Ruddock, McCall, Tyson, Holy to name a few.

The top heavies in this era we have three who can be considered "in shape" in the Klitschkos and David Haye. That's pretty much it. Valuev can possibly be considered in shape but that means you'd have to consider Valuev a boxer.

You don't have to be ripped to be in shape...just in shape.

I shouldn't watch a HW fight and then feel better about my physiche and stamina.

You are talking about people over different parts in their careers and different time spans... That isn't the same thing. There was never a time when all of those fighters were active, and at the top of the division, while all being in great shape at the same time. The point is that there are usually a handful of fighters who "look" to be in great shape at any given time in a division. We must also remember that not all body types are the same... and plenty of fighters can be in great condition without looking like a body builder.

    LMAO.

"No, no, the world's best large sized athletes are in professional boxing they're not pursuing other sports like you Americans assert - the talent is as it has always been. It takes a different breed to be a fighter."
