As an American I can honestly say I'm beginning to like Froch. I'm becoming a fan even after he beat Taylor. Froch appears to be rather humble and down to earth, not cocky and arrogant like that narcissistic son of a ***** Slappy Joe. Calslappy comes off as the type of pompous ******* who thinks his **** don't stink, a charlatan who likes to hear the sound of his own voice.

Good post, I agree. Froch makes Calzaghe appear as a coward. hatton has only recently redemmed himself.

Joe came over and fought and defeated Hopkins and Jones. Froch beat Jermaine Taylor and it was an impressive victory. But, the fact remains Joe is so much more skilled and talented that he'll always have more respect no matter what Froch does. Both have balls to come across the pond and win but one guy is a boxing phenom and the other, Carl is a just a really good, teak-tough prizefighter. Props to both those Brits for some terrific performances. If you want to see pure talent at its finest rewatch the Jones-Calzaghe fight round three. Joe looked like something out of the movie "The Matrix."

When you have Joe's talent you're bound to be a bit arrogant. No man can beat you at your profession either at supermiddle or lightheavy. He reigned supreme for years and is one of the greatest pure talents to ever lace on a pair of boxing gloves. As far as liking his own voice? Hell, Joe is the classic man of few words. He is always brief and to the point in interviews or press conferences. After the loudmouth racist Hopkins finished off another rant, Joe just briefly looked at him and said, "If you fight me you will lose." And that is precisely what happened.

    Calzaghe.

He came over here and beat Hopkins when I didn't think he had a prayer in hell. Despite what Calzaghe fans might like to believe, that, in my opinion, is clearly his signature victory.

Calzaghe has one really good win, and that's Kessler. Bhop is 100 years old and got beat by SD, a veery close SD. Jones is shot. Jeff Lacy, seemed like a good win but look at Lacy now...

Nice try. BHop slaughtered Tarver and middleweight king Pavlik. Joe beat everybody's ass and at age 37 hung em up. He is one of the greatest and as boxing is becoming more global his legacy will become the stuff of legend. No longer will jingoistic American boxing commentators decide who and who is not great. The whole world will have a say in the matter and the unstoppable, undefeated Joe Calzaghe will be high on the list of all time greats.

Taylor was his MANDATORY! His choices were fight JT for $700,000, or get stipped and go back to fighting no-hopers in small venues for small money. Making the obvous choice really does not buy Froch much in the way of respect. Immediately after the fight Froch called out a retired guy and a middleweight. Does he deserve respect for that? Hell no. Froch is a complete wanker.
