cotto would most likely have to stop him to win and with all floyd's running and pot shotting, he probably wouldnt get much opportunity to land many big shots.

I think Pacquaio has a better chance with more speed and that southpaw stance.

I'll have a stronger opinion after Cotto-Clottey and the potential PBF-JMM fight.

This is interesting, all these people think that Mayeather could beat Cotto, except Mayweather himself knows that he cant, this is why he wont fight him... Cotto's an inside fighter and will put a beating on him.. The best thing for Floyd is not to fight him to maintain his unbeaten record, just took to little guys Floyd..

After the Hatton fight asked if he will fight Cotto he said..."I want to retire from boxing,I dont want boxing to retire me" meaning let me retire so I dont have to fight Mosley,Wiliams,Margarito,Cotto..

whoever voted Cotto by stoppage must be crazy...how do you stop a guy whose defense is the best there is and also a fighter who has never even touched the canvas?

now, whoever said PBF makes Cotto quit on his stool is also out of their mind - funniest **** i heard all day.

I think Cotto will give PBF the hardest fight of his career and bother PBF a lot with the strong jab and if he manages to get inside and attack Mayweather he could do damage as well. However, I think PBF will beat Cotto to the punch with his counterpunching abilities and it will most likely be a SD for Mayweather...

I never head Cotto say he wanted to fight Mayweather, so Mayweather is on to bigger and better things. do you really think Cotto can beat Mayweather. I mean Im Boricua but I think Mayweather whoopes that ass. All you have to think about is Margarito slow and wide ass punches hiting Cotto, whay do you think the most accurate boxer in the last 20 years is going to do to Cotto??

Yeah but even with pressure, that doesnt mean the slowest WW in the last 20 years is supposed to land 3 uppercuts in a row.

Yeah that's exactly why Arum wouldn't let Floyd fight Cotto at 140, or why he won't let PW fight Cotto either, maybe you know something about Cotto that Arum doesn't....:rofl:rofl:rofl

@Buckdacious Cotto has said he will fight Floyd,he said he will fight anybody.. Before the Magarito fight in an interview with Lampley Cotto even says "I cant make Floyd fight me"

A washed up Oscar did fair with Floyd how you think a much harder hitter will do,the only way Floyd would win is by accurate punches, decision but Cotto would weaken Floyd.. LEts be honest does Cotto have to send Mayweather a written invitation to fight him??

The answer is no,Cotto is past Mayweather he knows he wont fight him,if all he did was call him out people would then criticize Cotto and say "Oh Cotto needs Floyd etc" Floyd dont want it simple as that..

PBF is simply too good and too smart for Cotto. Cotto is a good fighter but has many flaws in his game with these being his biggest, he fights dumb, he doesn't clinch effectively when hurt or to break up his opponents rhythm he also retreats to the ropes too easily abandons his game plan too early is easily frustrated, has average defense at best and has a suspect chin. A master defensive counter-puncher like PBF will exploit these holes in his game he's dealt with guys like Cotto before but Cotto has never seen a complete boxer like PBF. I would fully expect PBF to catch Cotto with something he didn't see probably a counter hook or right hand hurt him and finish him off. Cotto busts up too easily because of poor defense and gets badly hurt in almost every fight he gets in and this fight won't be an exception. PBF by UD or TKO.:deal

@Pimp I see your point, and lets assume your right, but once again why wont Mayweather fight him?? He knows he cant win.. If this is an easy fight this will PROVE to fight fans that Mayweather can take a tough opponent..

I found this article actually on this site,

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=14563&more=1

You'll never see it," said Emanuel Steward yesterday at a New York City press conference. "It's a matchup I would love to see. But I don't think Mayweather will ever fight him." When asked if HBO could force it or if Floyd is fearful, Steward replied, "I won't even get into that. I just don't think you'll ever see it."
