Is freddie roach underestimating Hatton??

I get the impression from the 24/7 shows that roach really doesnt see anything different in the way hatton is under mayweather.
He said in a conversation with michael moorer " nothing is different, its the same ricky hatton"

They are wrong, first of all what i saw hatton do more was head movement against malignaggi I dont know how many times paulie tried to throw a jab and constantly missed, ricky looked so much fitter and faster and was a real match in speed for the fast mallignaggi.
Another thing I noticed was Ricky wasnt coming in straight lines at Paulie, he was going to the side creating more angles which is better than what he did before that under Billy graham just bulldozing forward in straight lines and being so easy to hit.
Roach is also underestimating Hattons body punching its vicious and I dont know if pac will stand up to his body shots.
What Roach is also underestimating is just how strong Ricky is at this weight, and if Roach goes and points at the de la hoya fight and says "there you go manny can deal up at those weights etc and with a stronger man" lets not forget that roach himself said after that fight that de la hoya was dead on his feet and looked awful.
It will be a different animal Pac will face saturday night, Ricky hatton is not washed up, is not dead at the weight, and more importantly ricky will not stand there like a human punchbag for manny.

I like manny pacquiao I think the guy is a great ambassador for the sport, a terrific fighter and a good man.
But this is Ricky Hattons weight class and come saturday I beleive he wins the fight.

No, he is absolutely not underestimating Hatton. No talk prior to the fight for the public to hear can be taken seriously.

if manny wins i will be very very happy as a boxing fan, as it will be amongst the greatest achievements in the sport...and i will celebrate that.
but, i have my money on hatton..as you say its his weight..

manny was a flyweight world champ 11 years ago....11 !!
he was 25% physically smaller.
he is moving up 7 weight divisions from that...7!!...that unheard of....the more i think the more i think its impossible...
and we cant use oscar as a point of reference as he was very very shot...hatton is by far the biggest and best man he'll have met.

i am actually very surprised how many are picking manny and that he is favourite...it is a HUGE ask for him...physics will be the biggest factor in this fight.

 

If anything its Mayweather snr. whos underestimating Pacquiao. No respect for Pacman at all.

your right about physics, many thought that would be a factor in the de la hoya fight but of coure they didnt count on the fact that it was a de la hoya with no movement and shot to pieces.
This time its hatton the bigger man but with so much more to go with it.

and here's something debatable that most won't agree with...but just my own view..

if hatton beats manny {which i think he will}...he says he should be regarded as p4p no.1....i disagree strongly, i think even if he's beat manny should remain no.1 on that list* as he has so many disadvantages here and his p4p ranking is based on what he has done moving through the weights below this....a win here should move hatton up the rankings but thats not enough to overtake manny...i know he'll have beat him, but with the weight issue and what manny has done at lower weights, i dont think its enough to be regard as better than manny...

*thats if you regard manny as no.1 p4p at all...some say marquez and floyd now he's coming back...

 

Its between Manny and Manuel marquez right now and if Hatton beats manny which I think will happen I would have Hatton at three behind those two.
But in the boxing world right now its a case of if you beat the man who is number one you are seen as number one.
I think Hatton should be commended for taking on the best, and he may not gain the number 1 p4p spot with a win on saturday, but I tell you what he will earn the world of boxings respect and he can stick two fingers up at thoise who say he is overrated
