How much do Pacs and Hattons last 2 fights tell us?

Both sets of results (Diaz/ Oscar and Lascano/ Paulie) are open to very different interpretations.

Has Pac strolled through an lightweight champion and ATG or has he just beaten a punchbag, the shell of an ATG and proved very little how he can deal with a "live" fighter above 130lbs?

Has Hatton proved that the Lazcano was a blip after the Mayweather defeat when he impressively dominated his number 1 contender or did the Lazcano fight show a decline and the win over an overrated Paulie, who was made for Hattons style in any case, just papered over the cracks of a fighter on the way out?

Neither was that impressive in the grand scheme of things except for their own performances, which are probably exaggerrated by how poor the opposition was. Neither suggests anything about how they will fair in this fight. I mean this is really going to come down to styles, who implements their gameplan, and who is the better man at 140.

I mean beating old ass Hoya, even if every dumb ****er picked him except me, and Malifaggi is not going to mean much compared with what they are confronted with on Saturday.

You picked Pac for that fight??:admin

Are you starting to favour Hatton for this fight? Your attitude to this fight seems have changed over the last month or so? You were comparing Pac to Henry Armstrong and saying the weight was pretty much irrelevent in this fight.

Diaz was a limited fighter but still strong and fights his heart out till the very end. Pac schooled him made him look ordinary and i think it was a decent not great win. The speed was the key in this fight Diaz simply had no answer.

De La Hoya was a shell there's no doubt, he was according to roach re-hydrated right before the fight because he saw the fresh needle marks. That is Pacquiao's camp downplaying the victory right there, Oscar ****ed up his weight and Pacquiao "Annihilated" a very shot weight drained De La Hoya so this can't be really be used as an indicator for how Pacquiao deals with the higher weight classes.

Hatton's fight with Lazcano wasn't as bad as people make out. He always takes a few to get his own shot's off, and he won nearly every round i think. but the susceptibility to left hands is some cause for concern if your gonna fight Pacquiao. you would think Floyd will definitely have had Hatton working on defending a straight left, Pac's money shot.

Hatton looked way better against Malignaggi but paulie was a joke in this fight, Paulie fought with one hand and not very much heart and he deserved to be pulled out by McGirt because all he was doing was surviving. I've had discussions with Hatton fan's (And I'm one myself) who say it was Hatton's superb performance that made Malignaggi look so bad but I'm not so sure.
Yes there were improvements, he was more patient trying to box and pick his shots and for once it was his opponent doing the holding but against Malignaggi's tame effort it was an easy night for Hatton to shine.

Still tough for me to pick a winner, I've been leaning with Pacquiao because of his speed and because of his southpaw style but Hatton is a strong bull @140 with an Evil left hook to the body and we are still to really see Pacman in against this type of pressure.

Diaz as ninebar says was limited but game. He is a an alright fighter a good strong guy but dosent have the skillset to be a top top fighter but he did beat Morales which is an impressive win although Morales was shot he was still capable. Pacquaio completely outboxed Diaz and may i say Diaz is a very crude form of Hatton so Hatton should study this fight carefully.

The De La Hoya fight dosent tell us much except Pacmans boxing skills have improved as we saw his whole repertoire that night. Also can i say that fight made me realise how well Pac-man uses his southpaw style as an advantage which will be bad for Ricky.

Rickys fight with Lazcano showed us he lacked confidence but he did come through some rough patches with th aid of some shoe lace tieing (or untieing between rounds). it showed he could be hurt at LWW. But it showed how well he can use his weight and strength. Pac-man needs to study the 2 rounds where Hatton was hurt.

The malignaggi fight shows us how strong Hatton is and how well he uses his strength except from that it shows nothing.

i do think Pacman will win but it will be good and interesting but teh fight not be a great fight as i can see the styles clashing badly and maybe Hatton getting cut in an accidental headclash as Manny is reckless with his head but hopefully it will be good.

Pacman can do what he did to Diaz using the skills he showcased against Oscar he can beat Hatton as he showed what he can do.

    but

hattons improvement is still unknown and we havent really seen how good he can be since maybe Urango or Maussa. But if he brings his A-Game he takes this fight to the wire and since the odds are 22-1 on a draw it looks good
