In the case of Margarito, Mexican's consider him a true Mexican I guess because he has always lived there and does not speak English, even though he was born here, but it seems Mexican Americans (Even with full-blooded Mexican heritage) are considered half-Mexican by Mexican fans.:think
Obviously it'll be better if guys were allowed to rep both nationalities. Instead though a lot of people here have a with us or against us mentality which makes it difficult to distinguish whose what and who fights for whom. Basically look at some of the Margarito wars if you'd like.
Well it's weird that either you're Mexican or you're not but in other countries fighters seem to be able to represent their adopted country and their place of birth and fans accept it but between us and Mexico it does not seem to work that way. :think

Okay, thanks for helping out cause I was not really sure about U.S./Puerto Rico and who can claim who as their own, even if Puerto Rico is part of the U.S. I guess if Puerto Rico were to ever pass a bill to become a state then no one would wonder, but I think that type of bill failed before.

techniquely thats true.. but we still have military bases there, huge influence and control over everything their government does, but you are right.. they are no longer a colony of the US (on paper)
