lol your posts are laughable. Ill let you write your essays that please yourself-most of it made zero sense to me.

Ooo and im the one who said jones should go up to fight for a cruiserweight title??? In fact, what i did was put the question out there if he should actually do it. A poll was included. I just wanted to see the general response-my view was that it could be a possibility. This was before the sheikha fight..you see it??? Adamek who some call 'the mechanic' isnt beatable by that jones????? All the talk after the fight was jones possibly moving up, you hear it????????

Yes. There was one iirc, in the first round (and I've no desire to watch the thing again to check). I could only score that round to him on the basis of that, however. Seems like some people scored any close rounds later on on the basis of "I'll give this one to Hopkins, afterall he landed a clean punch in the first..."

spot on, im sick of people saying yes but...hopkins put him down in the first...etc
The fact is Hopkins was disgraceful that night he was the reigning light heavyweight ring champion and resorted to holding calzaghe stopping his work and trying to feign injury
The fact he was up against calzaghe who showed a better work rate throughout the fight and was the one fighter forcing the fight and taking it to hopkins swayed the judges and they could see that joe was the agressive fighter.
Hopkins trying to make a case that he won the fight when interviewed after the fight made hopkins look even more pathetic.
And its a real shame he resorted to those tactics because i have always respected hopkins as a fighter and what he has achieved.

You think Jones could beat Adamek now? You are violently ******ed. :-(

Have you actually seen the fight? Does 'round 7' ring any bells? Hopkins's final flurry in that round in itself was more clean and effective work than Joe managed in the full fight.

I've tried to blank it out as much as possible. From what I recall Calzaghe didn't win every single round after the first, just the majority. So, Hopkins may well have won the 7th, I'll take your word for it.

Froch no ****en doubt about it! He could have ran with his belt back to Europe and fought anybody he wanted, instead what does he do? HE COMES TO AMERICA! and fights Jermaine Taylor!!! who has only been beaten by one man! He could have fought someone with a decent name and less risk but he goes after JT..****en amazing! Froch has big nuts for doing that.

JC????? LOL the man who has had himself established for years and never stepped foot out of Europe until he could use being past his prime as an excuse if he ever lost. Plus his first fight against an American was on his turf!!! Froch came to America and dropped an American in America lol!! Froch is a tough summabich! JC= No balls, no respect from me as an American fan.

Just so you know that the U.S isnt where boxing starts and ends
Your not the only place to go for boxing, the fact the U.K can fill arenas five times the size of most U.S venues tells you something about how big boxing is over here.
And Jermaine Taylor is a small super middleweight and froch struggled big time.
I bet you were one of the people on here saying lacy would destroy calzaghe lol
Typical cocky attitude that everything must happen in america
How many U.S fighters have the following that Hatton, Calzaghe, Hamed, Benn, Eubank had????
    Not many
And it takes a puerto rican`s in cotto, tito and a phillipino in paccquiao to have such comparable fan bases.
The U.S isnt the place to be for boxing the world is, why dont americans come over here more often and fight our champions?
I remember Eubank challenging a few names and was turned down and ended up having to fight benn a number of times as fighters priced themselves out of fighting both him and benn.

I have respect for Hopkins, jones jnr etc for their boxing achievements, but they didnt risk leaving their country too often did they if any.

I admire Froch for his stubborn doggedness vs Taylor and his making the most of his very limited, crude abilities, but I respect Calzaghe for all the logical reasons much more, and believe that if Joe DID make one more stab at the sport, he would soundly defeat Froch in a one sided decision.

Both are fighters who deserve respect. But Calzaghe is the more respected fighter. He is a great fighter.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread from a couple of years ago as it ended 50/50 split.

Who do you respect most? Have your views changed??
