yes you are right again:tired no i was saying these are easily the weakest fighters in arthurs reign. but they wouldnt be too out of place on pavlik's or taylors resume...it would be a step up for felix sturm
he can fight i think he's more skilled then both Pavlik and Abraham (though that probably dont say too much), but.......yeah, he's chicken to say the least
no one hates sturm. he is just the 3rd wheel on the bike. he got alot of attention and a sympathy vote when he outboxed oscar de la hoya........then the final bell rang. he has had his chance but hasn't grabbed it he has really degressed. but you could say he is the more technical of arthur and pavlik...for what it's worth
Check the bold underlined part: I'v been saying that for a long time. Kelly and Arthur ain't exactly "slick." Sturm has more technical boxing skill than either man, but he's just not quite good enough to stay away from either one for 12 rounds. Somewhere along the way, in a decent scrap, Kelly would trap him on the ropes, and it's over. Abraham/Sturm seems rather boring to me, until AA lands a bomb, and finishes Felix. As for my personal preference, I love a good stalker. Pavlik/Zuniga, Pavlik/McKart, Pavlik/Zertuche, Pavlik/Miranda, Pavlik/Taylor I, and Pavlik/Taylor II were all very fun and fan freindly fights. Hell even Pavlik/Rubio was pretty fun to watch. I loved the 6th round when Kelly lowered his guard and started making Rubio miss using only head and upper body movement. And then, when KP stopped moving, and did that crazy Mayorga-type ****; standing there smiling while Rubio unloaded; that's the moment when Rubio knew for sure he was absolutely ****ed! I find Abraham's style rather boring. It's fun to watch him finish someone, but watching him hide behind his guard for 2 minutes or more out of most rounds is boring. The bottom line really is that my preferences do not amount to a hill of rat ****. Abraham and Sturm hold titles that Taylor vacated. KP took Jermains zero in a fight of the year candidate, and then decisively outpointed him in the rematch. Kelly's the champ.
I have nothing against Kelly and like him. But his recent comp leave a lot to be desired. Hopefully he'll step it up after Mora.
Kelly's wife recently gave birth to a son, their 2nd child. Kelly said he'd like to take a break. If I look at Pav's competition from October 2005 thru October 2008, I have no complaints. But ya, he needs to step it up after Mora. I'm sure he will.
Taylor had better plans than Pavlik in my opinion. Who has Pavlik fought in the MW division since beating Taylor?, and who is he PLANNING to fight? Taylor hands down for me. Taylor's plans were all good and if Taylor's plans weren't good enough then Pavlik wouldn't be undisputed champion and would be pushed aside with a pathetic letter to "become more popular" like Pavlik and his team are doing to Abraham. I don't think Pavlik was any popular with his only big win at the time being Miranda, a guy Abraham already took care of.
Abraham holds a title that Taylor vacated. He got it in a fight with Ikeke, a guy who never did **** in boxing. Go away foolatsch
Pavlik's competition at 160 since he got the belt is truly disgusting. It is a ****ing disgrace that the MW champion is fighting Sergio Mora after taking some of the worst mandatories ever. It's really pretty funny to see you Youngstown Clowns in here making excuses for him. Tell that coward to step from out of the shadows of Bob Arum and fight some damn body.
Not much to choose from. Taylor's perfomances were **** and probably shouldn't have been champ in the first place and Pavlik hasn't fought anyone yet. :conf
