For my money it's the ExCel Arena in London's Docklands. 'Saw' Ricky Hatton against Ray Oliveira there a few years back. Unless you were virtually ringside, you were ****ed, because most of the seats were at ground level, and with all the drunken imbeciles jumping up and down, you just couldn't see a thing. I don't even know if Warren still uses this lousy arena for his shows, but if he does, no previous customers would surely attend. I actually wrote Warren a letter of complaint after the event, but he didn't even have the courtesy to acknowledge my grievances. The *****. Wish Marsh had done the job properly.(Allegedly.) Absolute rubbish.
ha. it's funny, when i saw just the title of the thread i was going to say, immediately, upon posting, the excel arena. the massive amount of floor level seating really does make the bulk of the audience stuck trying to dodge hooligan mischief just to get a look at the fight. i hated the experience every time i saw fights there. i live in chicago now, i mean, i am from the united states, but i lived in adderbury for several years and grew to hate the excel arena and every time warren put what might have been a decent show there.
That night (and the 'customer care' afterwards) just proved to me that Warren's a greedy b*stard who doesn't give a f*ck about the gullible punter, who gets shafted with the price of the seat, the merchandise, and the refreshments. Only the joke's ultimately on him, as I'm sure that no one in their right mind would attend another of his lousy gigs after getting bent over in this poxy venue. I hope Joe Calzaghe bleeds him of every last penny, the arse faced weasel.
The media will try and sell the Excell as one of the best in the world, even heard it called THE best. I can only imagine what the media zones are like, gold plated i assume. The transport links are shite considering the location.
Doesn't surprise me that Warren didn't reply. His contempt for boxing fans has been running for over 20years
Crowtree Leisure Centre, Sunderland, where this Saturday's UK fights are taking place, complete shithole.
Why IS that clown Maloney using this place? To the best of my knowledge there's no local ticket seller on the card - why not use somewhere more accessible to most fans - somewhere central like , say, the O2 in Greenwich?! (Don't tell me Jeffries' fans are gonna come out in numbers to watch him belt out some no hoper, surely?!)
They sold out the show in Sunderland ages ago. It seems weird, with Moore and Munroe - two pretty decent ticket sellers, on the bill to have it ****ing miles away. Why not somewhere like Sheffield or Birmingham? Or better still - LEEDS!
Ha Ha Oldham Leisure centre. Forgot that one. All the pie heads fighting each other infront of the baths..... CLASS
