Rahman is a good solid top contender that has the skills to be a a decent HW titleholder but just never had the consistency to do it. Props to him for being a 2 time beltholder though.
:good My man wizard has the beat. If he could just keep his ass in shape, and re-dedicate himself to the sport, he could still be a major force. But I suppose with the fame and wealth, he no longer has to.:-(
Look at the first Tua fight. Based on this alone, one could argue that his chin is not china, the knockout losses aside. He may not have the best chin in the heavyweight division, but it is by no means the worst.
After his gutsy showing against Toney and Klitschko the boxing world really needs the Rock. I don't think he has a glass chin though.
I've always had a soft spot for Barret as well. The guy always come to fight and has pulled off a good number of upsets that way. Monte has balls. Rahman on the other hand hasn't fought with any passion since Lewis blaste him with that rocket of a right hand. So he can rot in obscurity for all I care.
I don't miss guys like Rahman, Tua, Barrett, Briggs, Byrd or any other heavyweight of the last 15 years except Lewis and Bowe.
I'm also a fan, but he didn't look motivated in his last fight, and he should have been because it was for the HW title. He needs to put an end to a great career. He made the boxing world a better place when he KO'd big fat Lennox.
I'd like to see Rahman retire and let the younger guys of the division see what they can do to shape up this weak a$$ HW division!
2Gunz Barrett is a good fighter I agree as well. As per The Rock, when he's not making Disney movies, I have to imagine Bob Arum (who represents him these days) will probably get him on the undercard of some of his lesser non-Latin Fury PPVs. Rahman vs Tye Fields do it up Bobfather.
I served a Rocks strength and conditioning coach for 5 fights. That video that was shown earlier in this thread is only half the picture of Rahman. He is an excellent talker. He says ALL the right things. Problem is it's all bull****. He is lazy, a liar, and untrustworthy. He and his scumbag manager Steve Nelson are a match made in heaven. When I first worked with Rock he weighed 320 lbs. At one point I had hm back down to 234, but he would always return to next training camp in the 280's+. He doesn't pay his team, or his sparring partners. When I first met him I thought he was a great guy. Seemed sincere in what he said. Unfortunately it all turned out to be bull****. Rock is the reason I decided to get out of boxing. Everyone involved in the sport of boxing are liars, and cheats.
