Who Wins? Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Juan Manuel Lopez

If you dont have an eye catching style, or dont get the big names, or dont have mass hype, then its incredibly hard to get recognition and respect in your peak.

Juans peak clearly began before the rest of us caught on to him.

When would you say Marco's peak began and ended?

 

His physical peak was at 122lb, but his best run of performances and legacy changing fights was from around 1999-2002 up and around Featherweight. Against Salud, Sanchez, and of course his best two wins, Hamed and Morales II. The Barrera that fought Sanchez, a good B- fighter, gives any Featherweight a run for his money in history, including Sal Sanchez and any version of Marquez.

Barrera's second fight with Pacquiao was Marco's last competitive fight at elite level. You're not going to sincerely make a case for him being at the peak of his abilities here as well are you? The fact is, he may have lost wide on the cards, but he remained competitive with a top 3 P4Per despite being finished.

You're trying to make a case for Marco not being ag reat fighter because he lost to Manny twice? Your a ****ing clown. You have no idea what happened in Marco's career before the pinoy came onto the scene. Just to remind you, Marco had 35 fights and was already world champion before Manny even became a professional fighter.

Barrera had a career OUTSIDE of the ugly pinoy, where he became a three weight world champion. beat prime versions of Hamed and Morales, going 2-1 over fellow ATG Erik Morales, when they were both at the exact same stages in their career. THAT is why he is a great fighter, forget the ****in pinoy for a while would you. He did not define Marco.

Marco is not an ATG because he got dominated by Pacquiao, and then beaten on the cards when he was a shot item.

Duran is not an ATG because he got sparked out by Hearns and never requested a rematch. Likewise, Frazier is not an ATG because he twice got knocked out by Foreman, not being able to adapt in their second fight.

Marco Antonio Barrera holds two wins over Erik Morales, once at his peak, and a dominating win over prime Hamed. It's worthy pointing out, Barrera was an underdog in all three fights. :good

 

Marco has 1 win over Morales in the third fight and the second on was a borderline robbery..

I thought Barrera had as much case of winning their first fight as Morales did the second. I'd like to point out, that's also the general consensus among boxing fans, writers, and even promoters. Lou Dibella was ringside for Morales/Barrera 1, and he felt the decision went the wrong way as did the British commentators. Both..British commentators.
