Nothing Floyd does is gonna be OK for some of these fools. The hypocrisy is astounding. I don't get sensitive about the Foyd criticism, but when the fan of a fighter who does the same **** has the ****in to nerve to get angry and emotional while calling Floyd out... it ridiculous.

 

yeah, they've been exciting because he's been fighting hungry foes that want respect and brings it to him. Now, Floyd will not be the hungrier in this fight, due to Marquez wanting to dethrone the p4p king. I have no doubt in my mind that should Marquez beat FMJ, jmm would take the p4p crown. Is JMM gonna be willing to go on offensive against Floyd? I wouldn't suggest it, therefore, I dunno, I really can't imagine this fight being an action packed.

 

Monumentally **** post. Your either stupid or only started watching boxing yesterday. Floyd started his career at 130. He walks around at 147 and is certainly not a solid welter. Either way a bout between himself and Marquez after such a long layoff at 140 is GREAT for boxing end of story end of thread.

 

you dont think floyd KNOWS he will win this fight? a fight against the number 2 p4p which will put him right back in the spotlight as p4p number 2 AND set him up with yet another superfight with pac if he wins this fight (or a rematch with hatton, both huge money fights). its a smart move, obviously, but very characteristic of floyd. he could gain so much more respect fighting anyone in his own division and yet, we're hearing he's gonna fight marquez who just moved up to LIGHTWEIGHT 2 fights ago. also, many, many people criticized both pavlik for fighting rubio and cotto for fighting jennings. i dont exactly see your point. i would be happy seeing him fight anyone at welterweight, the very deep division that he belongs in.

If this fight gets signed and sealed then it has to be at 140. Not some catchweight bull**** of 144 or even 147.

It might be competetive at 140, anything above Marquez doesn't have a chance.

Cotto fans defended Cotto for fighting Jennings because he needed a "confidence booster" after getting his face put through a meat grinder by Margarito.

Margarito fans never saw the reason to criticize him for fighting Golden Johnson because he "needed some time off after taking on all these tough fights"

Pavlik fans... I don't know what the **** their excuse can really be...

But now you have fans of all these fighters wanting to criticize a guy who is coming off of a two year layoff and may fight a guy who is P4P #2 and who called him out. It's pure bull**** hypcrosy no matter how much you try to spin it. Anyone who is not a biased fan of any of these particular fighters (like myself) can see that he is getting undue criticism.

It's also funny that you admit it's a smart move, but would rather see him "gain respect" by fighting who YOU want him to fight. It's even funnier how when Cotto or Margo or Pavlik makes the same "smart decisions about their career" all their fans all of a sudden say "boxing is a business" and all that bull****.

Kudos to both, especially to JMM. I have now totally changed my opinion on JMM, I used to think he just fights nobodies and over he hill fighters.

JMM will perform way way better than most of you here think. If the odds are good enough, I will even bet money on JMM.

PBF will at the very least look bad against JMM.

 

Admit that Marquez is just too small and who hasn't fought yet in the l40-145 division. It's too much of a mismatch. Floyd cherrypicked him as a tuneup fight.

but i think he is hoping pacman beats hatton and he beats jmm to set up pbf v pacman....that could be the biggest ppv in history after them beating the other two.

I think this is a pretty big for for a comeback fight. He should allow himself to have a tune-up first.
