I loved Naz he was quality. He did start to grate on me in his last few fights though. I was always a MAB fan too and when Hamed started coming out with all this self indulgent religious crap in the ring at the beginning of their fight, I couldn't wait to see Barrera take him out. It's a shame because he was an incredible fighter but he got his just desserts. I was also sad to see he retired not long after that. He said "A great champion always comes back" but didnt follow through with it. I stood next to him at a Khan fight about a year ago and he seemed a nice enough bloke.
I found his ring entrances disgusting exhibitions of an unchecked ego. His invoking God's name insulting and moronic. His lack of respect for his opponents disturbing. After the Barrera fight I think his massive ego was so shattered that he couldn't face his vulnerability.
he was great talented fighter with great handspeed , power and a great chin but he was also an ******* with no guts
He was a southpaw clown who brought boxing down to the level of the WWF. Thank goodness for MAB.........:happy
I thought he was hilarious. I also think he was one of the most talented fighters I've ever seen. I'd advise people to watch his early fights, especially at bantam. The one against Robinson was also impressive.
I hated the sight of this guy more than i ever hated anyone! Normally arrogant fighters just make me shake my head a bit, and smile (funny trash talk).. but hameds arrogance was simply to much! his entrance, cocky style and arrogant smile between punches..:fire
I absolutely hate him, I can't stand anybody who talks or acts like that. Thick illiterate little ****.
Ok would you like me to elaborate? I think Hamed had a lot of talent in his punching power. He was short compact and had the ability to move his upper body well. His problem, and one that a top trainer in Emanuel Steward couldnt correct, was that he couldnt keep his hands up and he lead face first into his punches. This allowed the better fighters who threw straight punches to knock him on his ass, and ultimately ended his career because of the beating he took from Barrera. By exposed I meant the top top fighters would always be able to punch in between his loopy defenseless onslaught.
Hamed did wonders for boxing in the UK,his arrogance, ring entrances and clowning in the ring made people WATCH. Half the viewers wanted a show the other half wanted to see him put on his ass.Love him or hate him he could box,he could fight and he could punch. He was well past his best and uninterested when he fought Berrera,a prime Hamed would have taken Berrera out in 4 rounds make no mistake. His career gradually went downhill following his decisions to leave Warren and Ingle. While im no fan of Warren,he kept Hamed in check, once Hameds family started running things it all turned to trash.Hamed could of been one of the greats, but his family, his entourage of bloodsuckers and ultimately himself screwed all that up.I loved the guy at the start but ended up cringing everytime i watched him.I met him in Leeds many years ago and he came across as a likeable guy,but the car crash thing finished it for me.I'm sure even if Hamed had of kept his feet on the ground and done things the right way 9,11 would have finished his career anyway.
