I absolutely despised the man. He was a damn good fighter but his long ass ring entrances, his speeches before fights and his general lack of respect for his opponents crossed the line with me. On the plus side he was good for boxing in general since a lot of people tuned in to his fights and gave plenty of exposure to the lower weights. Those who loved him and those who wanted someone to take his head off were glued to their sets whenever he fought.
neither, i liked him, thought his was funny, always entertaining, and he made Barrera look good, what's not to like about him?
Type 'Gerald McClellan Highlight' into YouTube (would upload myself but not sure how) and go to 5:38 and I'm pretty sure he makes a gun gesture with his hand towards McClellan, just after the 2nd knockdown, if I'm right, one of the most despicable things I have ever seen, especially considering it was clear to all he was seriously injured.
Overrated big time. Did not beat anyone and when he stepped up he was exposed as a limited fraud. He then quit the sport in disgrace after beating another bum opponent.
I just checked that out, well spotted, very observational :good I do disagree tho that he KNEW McClellan was seriously injured, he was on 1 knee taking a count, I think Naz was just happy that a fellow Brit came back from a hammering & pulled out an unlikely victory. McClellan didnt look any worse for wear than any other fighter Ive seen being forced to take a knee.
The sport of boxing is primarily about talent, money and entertainment. Naz was very talented, he did good buisness, and entertained a lot of people. What more do you want.
