Arriba -- I know God Damn good and well you are smarter than that. The NABF title is a traditional old school WBC title, a title held by the likes of Joe Frazier, Ray Leonard, Winky Wright, and many others. It virtually guarantess an eliminator, and you do not get to CHOOSE who you fight. Nor do you choose eliminator opponents or mandatories.

And PLEEEAASE do not tell me you're going to dis KP because Arum talked to Duddy, and then fail to give him credit for fighting Hopkins:patsch

No we're not counting the NABF MW title. Next we'll be counting the IBO and WNBA titles.

My point remains. He fought Hopkins at 170. THAT makes it irrelevant to the conversation of his reign as MW champion. I don't see why that's difficult to accept. He took on Hopkins at 170 lbs. 10 lbs over the MW limit. You say he "would've fought" so and so but unfortunately this convo is about the facts.

Fact is he has two MW title defenses...one against Lockett and one against Mustache Antonio Rubio.

And I don't hold his mandatories against him...but they are what they are.

PAY ATTENTION! There is only one reason guys fight for the NABF title. It guarantees a world title eliminator. Perhaps fighters should forget that title and not worry about world title shots:patsch

Taylor would have NEVER fought Pavlik if he had not become the mandatory. He became the mandatory by taking the traditional old school path which runs directly through the NABF title.

And I told you before, Rubio's mustache is resting quietly in Pavlik's trophy case. It hasn't healed yet. When it does, Kelly's daughter gets it for a pet!

And I have a question for ya; where the **** was Arthur when KP was calling out all the titlists in 2006?

What's any of this have to do with ANYTHING?

Great. Wonderful. Nobody doubts Pavlik's path to the MW throne. He did it the hard way and I've defended him on this subject before. Zuniga, Zertuche and Miranda are all quality opposition. He also beat the best MW in the world to get to the throne.

We're talking about AFTER he got on the throne. Taking on the likes of Mustache Antonio Rubio and Gary Pocket Rocket Lockett. Bad bad fights who by the grace of some evil diety wound up as mandatories.

THAT is not even counting Sergio Bora or approaching fights against the likes of John Doody or Tito "It's gotta be at 170 or I'm not showing up" Trinidad.

I also feel the need to state that I thought Enrique Ornelas (whom The Mexican Freddie Mercury beat in the eliminator) won that fight. It was a great fight too btw.

Man what's with the single white female obsession with Abraham? I didn't even mention him!

I don't have a problem with Pavlik, his path to the top or even the opposition he's tried to get fights with. I have a problem WITH the fights he's gotten and WITH who Bob Arum seems set to match him up with.

I won't believe the Abraham fight til after the 1st round ends.

In October 2005 KP and Zuniga were both decent prospects, but not real contenders yet. They fought for the NABF title knowing the winner would get a world title eliminator. Pavlik emerged victorious, and never slowed down, expect for the hand surgery. To ignore that, and focus solely on two mandatories, is more than myopic.

I thought Rubio needed a knock out or at least a knockdown to beat Ornales. That fight did tell me one thing: I knew Rubio's so called power was over rated. Mckart put Ornales on his ass twice, and Rubio never came close.

I do not like this Mora fight anymore than you do, but what world champion reigned without a few "routine" title defenses?

KP won his titles 18 months ago. He has fought 4 times since then, and chased hard after fights with Winky and Calzaghe, and was ready and willing to fight Williams. Is it KP's fault that these guys came up with 47 reasons not to fight?

That's bull**** and you know it. Winky... maybe. Calzaghe...maybe.

Williams? You and I both know that's a load of ****. How much did Pavlik get for fighting Rubio (instead of Williams)??? Isn't it fair to say he could have fought Paul and gotten much more, even if he had given Paul what he wanted? C'mon man. You are a much smarter guy than this. i ain't blamin it all on Pavlik, but it's like Arriba said, its who Arum sees fit to put him in the ring with.

Pavlik/Williams was set, all but signed, for October 2008. Pav was in training for it. Goosen came back and ask for more money. HBO was holding the check book, and they said no. Pavlik fought Hopkins in October, and Williams fought Verno Phillips for less money in November. End of story.

    Um... no!

That is absolutely not what happened.

Arum agreed to an offer and took money off the table. Paul was already gonna get less than 1.2. What the **** you want from the guy? To fight for free?

No worries. Pavlik will get his day. No one down here in NeckBreakin' Aiken, SC is worried about the Clowns from Youngstown. :yep:yep:yep

I gotta go to class. I will come back and talk **** to you later, man. As I'm sure you will have some outrageous response to this...

Please do not tell me that you want to argue about which BOXING PROMOTER lied. That's like arguing over the degree of stench between garbage cans:patsch

I already know the truth. And what he said ain't it.

Don't worry. Your boy will grow some nutz one day. And maybe I'll see you at ringside when he does. Time will tell, bro. Time will tell.

    No I don't...

I'm just really ****in wit you.

But I will say this... To just make the claim that Goosen backed out and tried to get more money is no different than me saying Arum did the same.

You made the claim first. I'm just telling you what I know from where I sit.

And you just repeated the williams' camp lines. It's Goosen and Arum for Christ's sake! I'm not going to debate over which liar lied first.

    You already know, man.

We settled this weeks ago. Same thing. And I agreed I wouldn't even waste our time with the debate. Like I said, I was really just ****in with ya because you made the claim first.

And I kept it going because Hermit chimed in...

But like I said... Time will tell.

And PW will be ready. Believe that ****...:spy:iak
