It definetly seems like it and i'm a big Hopkins supporter. I want him to take this fight because if he wins it will be big foir his legacy and he definetly can win this fight if he took it, but it wouldn't be easy though. What do you guys think?

You may be right. The argument will be that Chad isn't a big enough name for B-Hop. But then why is he making noises about Froch. Is 'The Cobra' all of a sudden a bigger name? As much as I like Froch I think Hopkins would ridiculously outclass him. Dawson though may just be his match at this present time.

Not so much ducking, in that he knows he would be at a stylistic disadvantage and wouldnt make as much money. When you reached Hopkins level, you deserve the right to pick who you want to fight.

He's 43 and has no title, he's not ducking anyone. At the moment a Dawson fight doesn't motivate him but maybe in time who knows. He is considering a fight with Froch and dropping weight to do so to win another title, respect. Plus Froch knocked out the guy who beat him so maybe that is the motivation he needs.

didn't he pretty much say he was not going to fight Dawson? So I would say yes but at least he admits it and does not act like he wants the fight and then price himself out etc.

How would he duck Dawson, whose biggest wins are a controversial/debated decision over veteran Glen Johnson (TKO'd by Hopkins), and a wide decision over an over the hill Tarver (badly schooled, almost stopped by Hopkins).

Dawson... the guy who rather ran away from the WBC throne not to face Diaconu?

Dawson... who gives a rematch to Tarver (signs stupid contracts with rematch clauses) but doesn't give one to Johnson?

Dawson... whose national and international fanbase can't pack a cab?

Hopkins fears no one. Actually, he wants them as long as it is a good payday or else he would get into street fights for nothing. Hopkins ducking Dawson? For Chrissake, the guy isn't even aggressive so what would he be afraid of? Dawson's sleekness??? Hopkins outslicks Dawson even with his back to the corner... Forget about it! Dawson is not a big draw and thats that.

I'd say Dawsons biggest win was beating cruiserweight champion of the world Adamek like a rag doll.

Dont go insulting a future P4P fighter and best light heavyweight in the world now, just because someones questioning B Hops reasoning. :good

None of those options, Hopkins is on a white guy rampage, he got beat by Joe and can't stand it. Plus Hopkins losses to guys with great speed, something that Dawson has and Froch does not.

Too bad no one gives a **** who Chad Dawson is right now... Too bad u are the only one (BTW, doesn't it feel lonely in the cab?) who rates Dawson as the top LHW. The Ring, magazines, experts and we don't. We have Bernard Hopkins on the top, and Dawson will have to work his way up to able to ASK Hopkins: 'Sir, can I fight u?' ... or he'll have to wait until the 44 year-old #1 LHW retires. :hi:

Its not Bad Chads fault that there is nobody at LHW to fight. He challenged Calzaghe was turned down. He challenged Hopkins was turned down. At what 26 years old however, he has already defeated G Johnson, Tarver and Adamek. An accomplished resume for anyone his age. If you dont know who Chad Dawson is, you will soon. As Floyd Mayweather jr said recently "Chad Dawson is the best fighter in the world" I dont totally agree. But he's close. He has all the tools to be a great fighter.

Hopkins has been in the game too long for us to accuse him of "ducking" anybody. Do I think he's caluclated the risk/ reward of facing Dawson and concluded that it's not worth it? Yes.

Even contemplating making a fight like Trinidad II tells me he's just trying to cash out now.

And bottom line, he's earned the right.
