Apologies if this has been covered already, but do you think Hatton could struggle at the weigh in tonight ? From what i've seen in the few pre-fight training camp vids, its seems as though he's leaving it late to get his weight down (not that im an expert). For me its gonna be interesting to see how easily he makes the weight tonight and also how it could possibly affect him in the fight. It has to very difficult for a guy like him to make 140 at this stage of his career, I just hope we wont see a guy in the ring who has been desperately trying to reduce his weight quickly and then suffers in the fight. Anyway, just my thoughts. Discuss
yeah guys your probably right, it just looked to me that he looked a lot thinner weighing in against pbf at 147 than the recent pics/vids i've seen of him over the last 2 or 3 days. I suppose if he was having difficulty making weight, he wouldn't be off walking around the Vegas strip in front of the cameras and doing all the interview crap etc...
lucation, I though the exact same thing. He still looked a bit chunky to me on the 24/7. I don't know for sure if he is struggling, but if he is, it could cost him in speed, strength and stamina, which is dangerous against the p4p number one.
Hatton is cocked, blocked and ready to rock!!!!!!!! As is Manny!!!! Lets ave em. Oh, and this has been covered. He is a professional, made this weight for years, great condition for Malinaggi and he was in better shape PRE-CAMP, longer in vegas and seems very relaxed... don't worry man, just enjoy the scrap!!!!!
That's cos the other fighter is Manny (naturally smaller) and thats the key to this fight. Not whether or not Hatton will be bigger, (because he will) simply how Manny will deal with it. Weight will be cool.
For months now the keywords from Team Hatton have been "size advantage". Hatton and Floyd Sr. keep bringing up de la Hoya's weight-drained debacle to stress their point. There's a strong likelihood that they'll go the opposite route -- and weigh in heavier than normal on fight night -- counting on the added bulk to overpower the smaller man. But, that's a double-edged sword because the bigger you are on fight night, the more dehydration you must endure beforehand -- and the weaker you'll be afterward. Plus, heaviness against a blazing speedster like Pacquiao might backfire. I agree with Lucatoni08 in that Hatton hasn't looked as pre-fight thin as usual leading up to this fight, which signals that they're heading into major drying-out mode.
I hear ya, but my only concern is the manner in which he makes the weight. I hope it was done correctly and progressively, from what I seen on 24/7 he looked very big 7 days ago... anyway hatton tko (rd 8-10):good:good
I concur, he looked sapped for the Mayweather fight. Looked bewildered, too. Of course Floyd may have alot to do with that. If he beats Pac, do you see a Mayweather rematch? It could prove interesting if he maintains his strength and has a modicum defense.
