Shoulda been stopped a bit earlier I reckon, he was done.

Never liked Piper as a boxer much to be honest but he wasnt bad. He has done a lot for boxers since his career though so all credit to him. Very bright guy by all accounts.

 

Bit harsh there lads. As I remember it Benn was only ahead on a close SD when they fight was stopped? Not saying he wouldn't have outpointed him if it had gone the distance but lets be fair Piper gave it a decent go

 

Yeah like I say he wasnt bad... and was doing pretty well early in the Benn fight. Had he not been around at the same time as people like Benn, Watson, Eubank and Collins he would have got a lot more recognition.

 

Piper is in Mensa isn't he ?

I think its safe to say thats the only time in his career that Benn has been described as gentlemanly!
