He will be the most important man in the ring other than the two fighters.

I don't know about "playing" to a fighter.

He's usually one of the top refs in boxing.

He did allow a lot of holding in Mosley-Vargas 2. If he's lenient on holding tomorrow, that favors Hatton.

I'm wit u on that. I just don't like when a ref makes to much of their prescense known and not just let them fight.

Bayless is a pretty fair ref.

As per Cortez stepping in, Usually when it comes to these sorts of things...I BELIEVE the top alternate ref (aka the guy who refs the semi main) will step in and ref the main.

I think whoever refs Soto-Gaudet would handle the top fight.

I hate cortez. Anybody watching that Hatton - Floyd fight could see that him stopping Hatton getting close played right into Floyds gameplan. I am not saying he would of won, but still...

Bayless is one of the best referees out there, there's nothing to worry about in my opinion.

Yeah Cortez is a cheat but the referee during Tszyu/Hatton isn't mentioned by the desperate/delusional ones for obvious reasons. That fight was a circus due to extremely poor refereeing to the point where it was OBVIOUS the referee is MAKING the fight the way it is by allowing endless illegal tactics to go through the entire night. Of course we won't see enough comments from the likes of you regarding that but you will mention it for the Mayweather fight because Hatton got knocked out. Even in hating at least TRY to be objective even when in denial. ANY normal boxing fan or even a boxer laughed hard at how ridiculous that fight was, even none boxing fans saw it as a fiasco with the stuff Hatton was allowed to pull off from start to finish.

Fact is Mayweather's style had a lot to do with Hatton's defeat, can't really say the same for the Tszyu fight when Hatton didn't really apply a certain style more than cheating tactics and still it was a close fight.

Yeah Dave Parris and Joe Cortez sleep in the same bed as one would say.
