Why do Americans dislike Hatton having a following?

I bet they won't. This anglo-Irish hatred Americans believe goes on is little more than myth and when it rears it's head, it is mainly in sport and just local rivalry.

The point is, the supporters on the British Isles, Eng, Scots, Welsh and Irish are all just as vocal and support religiously.

 

I personally dont care if all of them noisy people dont know anything about boxing. (although, I doubt that. They know something about it, I'm sure)

The more, the merrier. More people watching.

You dont need to be a boxing geek, super technical and a boxing historian to be able to enjoy boxing. Just watching your boy kicking the other guy's ass is fun already, even if you're boxing illiterate.

I'm a Brit and I've got to be honest, I'm sick of the wonderland song too. It just seems out of place and disrespectful especially at American boxing venues.

 

Danny_Rand by your unintelligent statesments on an international forum, not only are you making us brits look like good supporters and yourself abit silly, but if im honest your making you yanks look a little bit jealous.

Arran has shown you how us Brits supports our sportsmen in competitions and the yanks were shocked when we first when over there.

No one can match us for support. As a nation we come together and get behind our fighters when they go into battle. Even the prime minister has wished Hatton good luck.

Your fighters fight in your own country and we travel an ocean and we still outnumber you.

The inferiority complex coming from you people is amazing. Ok, you guys have the best fans. Maybe one day that will actually translate into sporting success. But I doubt it. I dont know, I think I'd rather have the best fighter then have the best fans. But thats just me. Maybe in your country, they give out belts for crowd support.

Its called Patriotism,only difference is that Brits wear there hearts on there sleeves and do so anytime, any place,anywhere (remember the ad lol) while the booing during the US anthem at the PBF fight was disgraceful,that was from a minority and not representative of Hattons following.I'm not gonna get into all that Brits v Yanks crap,but if PBF had fought Hatton in the UK how many US fans would have travelled to support there man ? Not many i'd guess.

I think it adds a lot of atmosphere to the fight. It's like a friggin' wall of sound, supporting their fellow Brit.

The booing and hissing of the anthem is the thing I dont really like, though.

That never happens in asian/oriental boxing matches. Everybody stands and stays quiet when the other country's song is being played.

Hell, some years back, I thought that Americans were disrespectful of their anthem during sporting events, because they were already screaming and cheering even before the song has ended.

How much more if another country boos your anthem.

Sporting success I think you will find for such a small nation we punch massively above our weight .

 

They've been singing that one damn song for years. Everyone's getting sick of it now. At least think of some other ones. If fans only ever sung one verse at a football ground they'd quickly become a laughing stock.
