Thing is some people want to say the antipathy towards Kahn 'is racism plain and simple' and others want to outright deny it and put it down to hype / his personality The truth lies somewhere inbetween He has to work harder for acceptance because of his ethnicity and people are quicker to turn against him - and a small minority will just never support him Then again this booing lark is probably as much to do with him being seen as one of Pac's camp. Like the Hatton fans booing the Yank anthem against Floyd - it's probably being taken a bit out of context.
exactly, blown right out of proportion. i had to ****ing rewind it twice and listen for the boo's. yeah there was a few, but there's always a few dickheads in any crowd and there was plenty of cheers too.
Its **** all to do with race or religion. I followed him through his olympic adventure and was a huge fan then his first few pro fight he started acting and sounding like a ****. Not forgetting of course the fact we are expected to pay £15 PPV to watch him fight a bunch of guys who are either too old or not heard of or what not. OK, he is fighting kotelnik next but its far from PPV worthy. If he keeps his mouth shut and just lets his boxing do the talkiong then perhaps he would have more fans. I for one think the damage is already done and its irreversable so he will always be the guy I love to hate and will enjoy his next visit to the canvas. Amir has a lot of bridge building to do and it wont be done overnight. Im fed up with some people spitting out the dummy and claiming its a race thing coz even if it is for a small few it isnt for me and I dont appreciate being tarred with that brush, especially after explaining my reasons several times (as have many others on this forum) rant over
