It's really hard to lose to a small man we cherry pick, isn't it?

Anybody complain when SRL jumped to MW?

    Duran jumping to WW?

    Pavlik jumping to LHW?

    Wright jumping to LHW?

This is also Floyds 4th weight class where he weighs no more than 149 on fight night.

What are you using to refer to them Cotto and Mayweather as WWs, because they have fought and been successful there?

Manny beat DLH at 147 does that mean Manny is a legit WW?

So if Floyd loses then he is like ODLH? Explain that

JMM may have a decent shot, but I still find this an odd fight for both men. Floyd doesnt intend to fight at 140, and JMM isnt going to be campaigning at 140 or 147.

At least if JMM wins I'll have something to celebrate

come on man thats just plain stupid. why do you think fewer pounds seperate one division from the next at the lower weights. how can a small frame pack on ten pounds easier than than a large frame. think about what you are saying.

Well one fight at WW compared to how many fights has Cotto had at 147? 6? 7? How many has Floyd had? 3 or 4? We're again arguing semantics.

My thoughts is that there's a reason why Pac's 147 performance is considered epic. If it happened all the time, more fighters would do it. It was as close to a once in a lifetime opportunity as there is. JMM is fighting something historically difficult to pull off and against the #1 P4P fighter? I mean Floyd has enough pure advantages as it is.

The fight really should be at 140 but either way, it's whatever.

Whats different at 140 compared to 143 or 147.

Consider that Marquez weighs 144 on fight night and Mayweather 148

Floyd won't lose and for the record I will continue to say I'd rather see him fight Cotto more than anybody. My point is nobody complained when Shane or Floyd had to move up to face Oscar.

    3 lbs....7 lbs.....such and such.

At 140 lbs, JMM jumps up 5 lbs. At 147 it's 12 lbs. If you wanna use the unofficial rehydration weights than that's fine. For me it really doesn't matter either way. Again it's whatever.

I don't think this is a bad opponent for Floyd. I also appreciate the fact that the best in the "P4P" ranks are trying to fight one another.

Floyd is a WW and I'd prefer he fights WWs. That's my attitude on this whole entire situation.

Mayweather is simply pointing out the obvious. Marquez is a small fighter compared to Mayweather. And I don't care what people say, this is an interesting fight, it's generated some good buzz already. In a sport like boxing, you need guys to participate in intriguing fights. This fight delivers in that regard. There's guy who I want to see him fight more, but this is still a fight worth watching.

The difference is that Floyd and Shane were ridiculous pure natural athletes. I mean I love JMM but in terms of pure athletic ability, he doesn't have that to make the jump.

130 to 135 is one thing. 135 to 147 is completely different...there's a reason only a few guys have pulled that off.

Also kind of worth noting that they share the same opponent

Weight classes mean nothing. People are adding lots of weight after the fight.

My argument is, they are near the same size. Marquez is the smaller of the two but they are near in size and weight.
