If Floyd beats him badly, and Marquez came back at the same (or close) weight and did great, that's one thing. If Marquez stayed at that weight after and pulled a Castillo, that's another.

Actually, I'm not acting like anything. Don't get hysterical please. DO you think it's more truthful to day Hopkins beat a couple of WW's rather then a couple JrMWs?

Hopkins is my boy, but he has clearly pulled similar stunts. His last two wins were against guys coming up two classes and 10 lbs. The only difference is that many thought Hopkins would lose despite the size difference. Then again, Floyd would probably have to go to MW in order to be an underdog.

Well I'm not oblivious to what Floyd is attempting. To fight Cotto in your first fight back is certainly an unnecessary decision. Likewise on Mosley as well. I would've prefered a guy like Quintana or Ricardo Torres. Someone relatively easy but someone who is relevant to 147.

I don't mind him fighting JMM because it's two good fighters and two guys who are technicians in what they do and brilliant in the ring. I just think in the grande scheme of things, I would've preferred something more relative to the WW or even if we wanted to be more lienant, someone relative to 140.

Hopkins and Hagler started at 160, Floyd started at 130. Floyd beat the best at 130 and then some, then he beat the best at 135, twice.

This is Floyd's 4th weight class, if it wasnt i'd be right there with the haters. The you state " sure they fought some guys coming up but who hasnt?" How many times has Floyd fought smaller guys? Once and that was Hatton whom is a big 140 lber himself.

Hatton won a title at 147 and is the champ at 140, what are you talking about his last two havent won a title in a division where he won a title? Jmm hasnt i'll give you that but Hatton hell no.

What's the difference in Wright jumping to LHW or Pavlik jumping to LHW?

SRL jumping to MW? Duran to WW?

Armstrong all the way to ****ing MW?

    Spinks to HW?

    Explain the difference!!!

So basically, we'll never know. Unless Marquez wins.

How much did Pavlik jump? Cant count i see.

What about Wright? Both cases were 10 plus pds. DLH looked like **** against Sturm how can you use that as validation. At least Tito KTFO joppy DLH looked complete ****.

Dude, where they started isn't the topic. Who gives a **** if it;s his 4th or 10th weight class. Floyd fought at 147, and won the world title there. Marquez just fought twice at 135 after a career basically below or at 130.

All the rest of what you post is just fluff dude. Doesn't have much to do with Floyd or Marquez.

    ....:patsch

Floyd is a WW is he not? I mean 3 of his last 4 fights are against welters unless I'm mistaken and I have been before.

So I want him to fight WWs. It has nothing to do with whose taller (Floyd is taller than Cotto), who weighs more, whose got longer arms (Floyd has more reach than Cotto and Mosley for instance).

If Floyd is fighting at 147, I would prefer him fighting at 147. All the people up in arms over those who share my views on this are losing the plot.

Ok let's say Hopkins beat a couple JrMW's. Floyd got criticized for making Hatton move up 7 lbs but it was ok for Hopkins to do essentially the same thing against Tito and Oscar? Not to mention Hatton was a JrWW when Floyd was a LW. PLUS I will repeat again that I want to see Floyd fight Cotto more than anybody.

He jumped 10 pounds. The 6 ppoubds I was referring to were Tito and DLH. I guess I could say to you "Can't READ?".

I didn't use it as a validation for anything. When I say he jumped 6 pounds, it was in response to someone saying Hopkins just beat WW's. If you can't follow a discussion chain, don't enter.

And I did say Winky and Pav didn't belong at 170.

All the previous cases i never complained about because those were good fighters fighting each other. But when Floyd does it people act like he's been doing it forever when he's only done it once before.

Pavlik had a fight at 166 before though. It's not like he was a virgin at fighting above his proper weight.

Not only that but Pavlik kind of helps fuel the argument. Pavlik was well out of his weight class and well out of his range against Hopkins at 170.

I don't think I'm the only one who feels that the same will happen to JMM at 144 or 145 or wherever the catch weight is.

Tito showed he can hang at MW. He did what Taylor, Hopkins or Eastman couldn't, STOPPING Joppy.

With DLH, it was a little different, since DLH made Hopkins come down in weight per their agreement.

C'mon...I know more of you guys can see Hatton was NOT a good WW, title or not. That's just grasping fpor straws.

Obviously Hopkins abused this trend more than anybody. No question about it.

That said Tito and Oscar had experience at 160 by that point. Not a great dearth of experience but enough to the point where we weren't completely in the dark as to how they'd handle a jump.

JMM hasn't ever stepped above the LW division. Hence why more people are sitting there going "Wow WTF is going on here?"
