That would be a good fight against Quintanna. Honestly I would favor Marquez over Quintanna though. I agree that I want to see him fight WW's too but Marquez deserves this check.

Don't you want Floyd to fight someone from his division? He fights at WW and hence it's natural that he fight the welters. If the welters in his division are big, Floyd can go down to JWW and fight the fighters there.

The reason why so many are complaining against this fight with Marquez is because Floyd retired without fighting the top dogs in his division (and they are all calling him out) but suddenly unretired after someone from 2 divisions down called him out.

but we are talking about size difference.

Floyd fights at WW but can fight at 140. (I dont think he really likes to cut)

I think he could make 135 if he wanted to but Im not really sure.

I understand what you are saying but we are talking about size.

And the fact is. The size difference between Floyd-Cotto/Williams is greater than Floyd-Marquez.

Agreed. JMM has paid his dues to earn his shot. If JMM thinks he can handle this sort of challenge then hey? Who'm I to argue?

My preference is for Floyd to take on welterweights. I don't think I'm alone in that regard as you've shared the same beliefs.

No, people DO NOT act like he's doing it forever. You are making it out to be that way in defending that stance ad nauseum. NO ONE said Floyd's done that forever, so why act like that's the debate? :huh

After this fight I want to see him fight Pacquaio or Cotto/Mosley winner.

Were they started is relevant because Floyd isnt natural at welter. Hopkins and Hagler were natrual at Middle. If you think it doesnt matter then your clueless.

My point is what Floyd is doing here is no different then what other great fighters have done in the past. People complain about Floyd doing this but when other do it, silence.

Should have been at 140, those 4 lbs do make a difference, JMM wont come in anything past 142 for the weigh-in and will be 146 tops for the fight, Floyd could easily be 150+

It's not so much that difference on fight night but if it was at 140, the extra 4lbs PBF would have had to cut, would have somewhat evened up the ground JMM is giving up.

Wouldnt have changed what the difference on fight night could have been, but the starting point would have been more even, and the work Floyd would have had to make cutting those extra pounds probably would have sat better with JMM's fans. Theres no-way JMM weighs in at over 142, i even have reservations he'll come in over 140 on the Friday but we will see. PBF will be a strong 144 on the friday, no doubt, with more to come. JMM wont be.

To be honest I cant get upset about all this though, because im glad PBF is back, he adds to the scene,ten-fold. And im looking forward to the fight anyway. Dont pretend there wont be a ****in army on here saying JMM wins.

That is a great point about Tito proving himself at MW. Hopkins stayed at 160 year round so coming down a couple pounds for Oscar didnt affect him at all. I'll give you Hatton wasn't a good ww but Floyd is a better jrww than he is a ww. You don't think he would've beaten Hatton worse at 140?

And Floyd is taller than Cotto. See I can cherry pick size stats and say "Ya see Floyd is the bigger man!"

I see the argument on the size thing and personally it's not a big deal to me. Not only that but we'll have to see how the rehydration process goes about. I mean we all tlked about OScar rehydrating to the point of 160-170 lbs...instead Manny outweighed him on fight night. To guesstimate rehydration numbers takes a lot more guess work than anything else.

It's just that Floyd Mayweather Jr fights at WW. To me? That means I want him fighting welters. It's the same for every fighter out there.

    Today is what matters dude.

Sure, it has happened. I won't deny that. But tell me who else has fought a guy who came up from two divisions below to fight the former best fighter in the world? Aside from DLH and his money that is. Name them.

I named more fighters than just tito and oscar, can you read?

Pavlik was made to jump 10pds so was wright.

Again my point is Floyd isnt doing anything different from what others have done.

That small of height can't be factored in. If you have a two blobs of cheese and one has a lot more volume to it. But the other is taller.

    It's not the same.

I give Floyd respect for this fight but he should fight Pacquaio after or Mosley-Cotto winner.

He may have beaten him worse, or Hatton may have fared better. Hard to say. But if it happened at 140, it would have held more esteem. Would have been for the World 140 Championship, the one Floyd doesn't have. Really, why do you think it occurred at 147?

And yes, Floyd beats Hatton at either weight.
