Lara seems abit dissappoiting, this is my first fight seeing him and I was told he was Uber fast. The speed is not impressing me and he seems sort of flat-footed.

Steward is VERY high on Lara. Merchant seems a tad more reserved and even joking about Steward "driving the speed boat that got Lara here." Lara is such a real smooth operator. Lara lands a straight right hand and Gray buckles a bit. Steward says Lara should work on landing a clean punch and throwing his combinations more. Says there's still some room for improvement. Lara heating up now and Gray holds on. Lara with a sick rippling body punch but Gray recovers. Lara has a very polished body attack for a young fighter. Young-ish actually. Gray really hasn't landed anything ood on Lara and I'd argue that he hasn't landed a severe punch yet.

    4-0 cleanse on my card.

I had that happen for De la Hoya/Pacquiao, and I flipped out.

the british commentators don't think too much of Lara, they call him one dimentional, jab/left cross type fighter, and reckon he was a poor choice of sparring partner for HAtton, cos he's almost like a thinking man's southpaw, rather than an all action Manny type.

After last Decembers fiasco, wouldn't surprise me if someone passed down the idea to go all 4 and avoid another 1 and a 1/2 hour wait for the main event.

Won the fight easily. Of course we like KO's in USA but I guess he doesnt want to take risks. He should be fighting again in a month or so.

For all cubans: This is the guy you need to support. Much better boxer than sloppy Gamboa.

Someone mentioned Casa and obvious Cuban ties aside, I think that's a PERFECT comparison. Defense oriented superb head movement with a tremendous jab.

Lara 50% of his punches, 65% of his power punches.

Rigondeaux is more of a sure thing for Cubans than Lara and Gamboa IMO.

Manny's mom will not watch the fight, choosing instead to pray somewhere quietly.
