Jeffries has great support in just his 2nd fight by playing up to the Sunderland thing....

Hatton obviously did the Man City thing....

Seems a sensible route to take, seems to guarantee a better support than usual.

In fairness to Hatton and Jeffries they are genuine fans of their respective teams. But it does seem an easy way to not only drum up local support, but also makes for a good atmosphere.

I think the one drawback is it could lead to trouble if for example jeffries was to ever fight outside Sunderland and take a big support with him.

Pretty good idea really. All that support means more ££££ for him.

The problem with this kind of support is that 90 percent of the "fans" in the arena probably dont know a great deal about boxing but will jump on the band wagon regardless who hes fighting. Good luck to jefferies thugh he seems a nice bloke.

Sounds good from a financial perspective, and most football fans are a bunch of gullible turds, who's support anybody with their fave teams top on (case in point Fat John Mcdermott from essex wearing a Sunderland top).

On a downside, anybody rememebr that Nigel Benn fight on ITV many years ago, where Rob Mcracken was on the undercard, and Some birmingham City Fans thought it would be fun to start throwing Chairs about.

Im a Rangers fan so if i was a fighter and went down that route id immediatly lose 50% of Scotland as potential supporters and id also never be allowed to fight in Manchester.:lol::lol:

Birmingham City fans are the biggest ****s out there though.

    Braindead morons.

They beat up their own fans after a Villa match recently, dumb twats.

One of their fans ran on the pitch during their last game, so Jerome tripped him up and Mellor twatted the ball into his face, fantastic.

There was a crowd of Wolves "fans/hooligans up watching Steve Saville at the recent prizefighter event in Glasgow. They were definetly looking for trouble after Saville got whipped.

It must be a midlands thing.:lol:

Must be something in the water in the midlands.

Slightly off topic, Just a huge shout out to Peter Enckleman, Anybody rememebr him scoring that own goal in the birmingham city/Aston villa match, and that Scumbag City fan throwing the tosser sign in his face for what seemed like an age, I to this day cant believe he didnt throw a left hook at him, talk about discipline and self control!

This football thing is getting very cynical now

Having said that Eubank and Watson did it didn't they, Spurs-Arsenal, that was very plastic

Kaylor was a bona-fide Hammer though if I recall rightly

Hatton is genuine about it too.

But when it's false it's just stupid
